I reviewed vocabulary that is associated with family with the student. Some of the vocabulary words included; mom, dad, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, grandpa and cousin.

Verb review

We reviewed the conjugation of the verb ser and introduced the verb tener. I explained how tener is a boot verb and irregular which is a way to be able to understand where the stem change happens.

Activity two: writing practice

We combined what we learned from the vocabulary and the verb conjugations and the student was able to express by writing about their family using the verbs.

I was able to learn about my students family as they expressed themselves using the vocabulary and verbs expressing how big their family is and how they are characteristics wise.

Activity 3: conversation practice

Me and my student will have a conversation about our respective families where we will describe our physical family; like how many siblings we have, cousins we have etc and then also describe how they are and their characteristics. This will be good conversation practice and listening practice.

After the conversation, I asked my student comprehension questions to test if they were able to understand what I said about my family. The questions will be true or false and one word answers.

We reviewed vocabulary that is associated with activities and interests. Some of the vocabulary includes; sports, soccer, football, baseball, tennis, golf, basketball, to play an instrument and art.

The next activity is a worksheet that has the vocabulary word on it and will draw an image associated with it. My tutee was able to successfully associate the vocabulary words with images that associate with the word.

lesson 2: verb review

The next part of the lesson is reviewing the conjugations of -ar verbs they have previously learned about. These verbs include; jugar, gustar, tocar and pintar. Next using the vocabulary and the verbs, they will write down 5 sentences about their interests and the activities they enjoy doing.

In this activity, me and my tutee will have a conversation about our interests and what activities we enjoy doing. This is good conversation practice and listening practice for my tutee.
