This passion has only increased and at the age of 16 I realized that helping children is what I want to do; Nobody influenced me on taking this path

PETS COME TO VISIT
In this article we talk about how animals can make patients feel better. An exemple is given to us by Patricia Stevens, a nurse, who was in the hospital to give birth, she was very scared, she did not want to see any of her family members, she wanted to see her dog and after having managed to convince the doctors, the dog's visit and alone managed to make feel the nurse better without using medicines.
Through recent studies, some hospitals have realized that pets can help patients emotionally, when you pet a pets it reduces anxiety, blood pressure.
Lea Ann Matura, an advanced practice nurse at the Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas, he recalls an episode of a lady with cancer who rarely got out of bed, but after her dog's visit she seemed happier, she was a different person. Dogs can make a difference as when 31 pets visited the hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada, noting that the visit of dogs helps to improve the morale of both relatives and patients, making them feel better.
However people may be concerned that pets transmit diseases to patients, but there have never been any cases in the hospital and furthermore Ann Matura stressed the importance of guidelines or rules to be followed before animals visit

To be good nurses you need to have patience, empathy, trust in the patient and family members, to be good nurses you need to listen to the patient and help him return to his optimal state of health. Another thing that makes nurses good is experience, you never stop learning over time, even trust in colleagues can be conducive to improving skills. The skills of a nurse are mainly cognitive, communicative and gestural that are acquired both in the university and in the workplace; is responsible for patient care, health promotion and prevention, the nurse educates the patient so that he can reach his optimal state independently.

In my last internship in the operating room, my tutor Isabella and I witnessed a very touching scene.
He had to undergo a small surgery a 13 year old boy, he was a little worried but he tried to hide his worries to reassure his mother.
Arrived in the operating room as we usually do, we approach the mother in order to reassure the patient and then we always try to distract them before anesthesia to avoid further stress and excitement, talking maybe about sports, passions, favorite colors.
At the moment when the mother took the boy’s hand she began to cry and this sparked agitation to the boy who in turn began to cry, Isa and I did not understand well the motivation of this cry because both seemed much calmer.
Once the boy was asleep we asked the mother why this sudden crying and she replied that she had recently lost her husband, the father of the child and was afraid that the son would not wake up anymore.
Understanding the situation, with great calm and sweetness we remained close to the mother to reassure her, but above all to be close to her in that very delicate and fragile moment.
Once this delicate moment had passed, Isabella and I advised her to take some air and that as soon as the operation was over one of the nurses would call her back to wait in the recovery room.
Once awakened the boy we brought him to mom, and as usual do every 10-15 minutes one of us went to check the status of the boy
When I walked into the recovery room the guy was talking to the twin sister via video call and the guy looking at me told his sister "she is an intern is very sweet and is taking care of me and mom", the sister asked if she could greet me and the moment the guy handed me the phone, she started smiling and thanking me.

At the time of discharge mom thanked us saying "thank you so much, today my son and I felt very pampered".

That day I returned home with a greater awareness and determination to become a pediatric nurse
