The answers to all these questions lie in the vicinity of Charles Law.<br></mark></strong><br></div><div><strong><mark>In fact, if I talk about the history of hot air ballooning, Charles law and hot air balloons are somehow related. In other words, Jacques Charles himself was one of the famous hot-air balloonists.<br></mark></strong><br></div><div><strong><mark>He was notably one of the few people who flew the world’s first hydrogen balloon flight.          <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><mark>Parts of a hot air balloon basically consist of an Envelope that stores heated air, Burner, and a Basket or Gondola to carry passengers.<br></mark></strong><br></div><div><strong><mark>When the fuel source is ignited, the air contained inside the envelope gets heated up. Charles’s Law states that with an increase in the temperature of the air, the volume of the air will also increase.<br></mark></strong><br></div><div><strong><mark>Therefore, as a result, the density of air contained in an envelope becomes lighter than the density of the outside atmosphere.          <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><strong><mark>Hot air balloons fly based on Charles’s law. Heating the air in the balloon increases the balloon’s volume. This decreases its density, so the balloon rises in the air. To come down, chilling the air (not-heating-it) allows the balloon to deflate. The gas becomes more dense and the balloon sinks.</mark></strong></li><li><strong><mark>If you take a filled balloon outside on a hot day, it expands (and may pop!). If you take it outdoors on a winter day, it deflates but returns to its normal volume when you take it indoors again. You can even use a balloon as a poor sort of thermometer, using Charles’s law.</mark></strong></li></ul><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>How about a Hot air Balloon?</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><mark>A torch is used to heat the air molecules inside the balloon. The molecules move faster and disperse within the space. The gas inside the balloon takes up more space, becoming less dense than the air surrounding it. As such, the hot air inside the balloon rises because of its decreased density and causes the balloon to float.</mark></strong></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><mark>The working principle of an air balloon is simple. It consists of a bag or an envelope, a basket to carry passengers, and a fuel source like propane. On ignition of the fuel, the air inside the envelope heats up. This hot air expands as per Charles's law. As the temperature of the air increases, the volume of the air also increases and consequently, the density decreases. This makes the envelope lighter than the atmospheric air surrounding it. The buoyant force pushes the lighter envelope up in the air, and it flies.</mark></strong></div>]]></description>
