Sara said, "Soil comes from rocks and decomposing plants and animals.  The rocks break into little pieces to be a part of the dirt.  Plants and animals die and break down into minerals to become dirt too."

Kevin said, "Soil doesn't come from rocks.  You can find rocks in soil.  Soil is just decomposing animals and plants.  Worms help break them into smaller pieces so they can become soil."
