William Henry Perkin was an English chemist. At the age of 18, he discovered mauveine - a purple dye. This was an extremely great invention because at that time, purple dye was very expensive, so purple clothes were only reserved for the elite class. In addition, Mauveine was also the first chemical dye to be mass produced and subsequently, dozens of other dyes were born. Perkin's invention opened up the chemical dye revolution worldwide, thereby helping to change the textile, food and medicine industries.

He known as the ‘discoverer of America’, Columbus (1451-1506) actually landed in the New World in 1492 while trying to find a route to the East across the Atlantic. This unplanned expedition changed the course of world history.

Christopher Columbus was born in Genoa, Italy, sometime between August and October 1451. His father was a weaver and merchant. As a teenager, Christopher spent much of his time at sea and eventually settled in Portugal. It was there that he began to solicit royal funding for a westward (across the Atlantic) voyage to the East.

Alfred Nobel was a Swedish chemist, engineer, and inventor. At the age of 34, he invented dynamite, a powerful explosive that revolutionized construction and demolition. This invention was significant because it provided a safer and more efficient alternative to the unstable nitroglycerin used at the time. In addition, Nobel’s invention of dynamite laid the foundation for numerous advancements in engineering and mining. Nobel’s legacy extends beyond his inventions; he bequeathed his fortune to establish the Nobel Prizes, which annually recognize outstanding contributions to humanity in various fields
