A basketball is also an important symbol because it represents everything that happened in the first half that was related to Danny. For example, he didn’t make the travel basketball team.

A very important quote Danny said from the first half that shows what kind of a person Danny is

It also shows that he isn’t a showboat and passes when he needs to. It also shows Danny's collaboration and his amazing teamwork.

one big turning point event from the first half of the book

A big turning point event came in the middle of the book when Danny's dad made his own travel basketball team. I think this event really boosted Danny’s confidence and his happiness because he would get to play basketball even though he didn’t make the Middletown travel team. This was also a big turning point because Danny went from not playing basketball to having a team to play with and compete with. Lastly, This turning point was also very big because it completely changed the story. Without this big turning point, the story would have been very boring.

An important symbol from the second half of the story is Richie Walker’s old youth team jerseys. These were the jerseys Danny and the Warriors wore in the last game of the book against the Vikings. I think those jerseys are an important symbol because they showed the perseverance Danny and his team had. They showed that Danny and his teammates persevered through being called a terrible team and being doubted to come as far as they did.
