Chairman of the NATO Military Committee: General Petr Pavel, Czech Land Forces
Purpose: prevent a resurgence of aggressive nationalism and foster political union.
Some of the Countries involved in NATO are United States of America, France, Italy, Norway, and Canada.
Original purpose was to defend each other from the possibility of communist Soviet Union taking control of their nation.
