The women, modelling a bikini on what I assume to be a catwalk, is extremely thin, while the man, who appears to be partaking in a body building competition, has muscles bulging everywhere. The existence of modelling and body building competitions creates a cultural construct that leads us 'average' folk to believe that this is what we should strive for, and should be engaging in such body modifications such as extreme dieting or extreme working out sessions to achieve such an ideal. fiona_luks https://padlet.com/fiona_luks/h4b7lqn6a54w/wish/281849709

This can be seen in examples of Asian women undergoing facial modifications to appear like Western women. The Asian women go to extreme lengths to modify their faces so they no longer appear Asian. This includes prosthetic noses, fake eyelashes, contact lenses and fake chins. And of course, a LOT of makeup. Rodrigo Alves is a British personality referred to as the 'Human Ken Doll' who has gone to extreme lengths to achieve the 'perfect' body. His extreme body modification included multiple surgeries trying to conform his body into what he perceives as 'perfect'.
