In my context, I work with educators, and we tend to take an inquiry stance towards our work. I find these complicated inquiries these days so in the last session, I appreciated the AI awareness chart that reminds us to be aware of our values, societal impact, etc..

Right now, I am teaching a grad program and my students are in a learning science and technology program. My class is not on technology, but I am trying to open up conversations because the default seems to be that everything is exciting and tools can be developed to help with something that needs help. I guess just writing this is making me think about talking more about that something what is it that we think needs help.

Some of my students come from China they talk about elementary schools middle schools that have 8000 children in them. The scale completely baffles me and I have a hard time talking about this work in that context. What does it mean to stay small and community centered when you live in Shanghai and go to schools that are massive?
