How am I? Things are going great here at home (aka work) We are healthy, work is slowing down a bit (which means teachers are managing well) and I actually feel closer to my staff through this.
Challenges: It is hard to show people how to do some of the technology from afar. I feel that my hands have been taken away at times and I am reliant upon my voice. We have overcome the challenges, however, and it has made many teachers gain a lot more confidence in their tech abilities.

Wins: This experience has made us all aware of our humanity and the fact that we need each other! The biggest impact made upon me this week is how amazing it is to see us pull together as a coaching cohort, a family and how the school district is one big team! I am blessed to be a part of SVUSD!

Teachers are willing to do the work but some are assigning more work than is possible for students at home and alone - that will be my next piece of work. My family is healthy. I wrote a story in my journal about this experience strange and culturally shifting time and it's turning out to be something revealing about my thoughts going forward.

I cannot work at home until I get an adapter to hardwire into our router. Both my children are healthy and at home, but we do not have the bandwidth to support all the streaming required for their college classes and my work. Hence, I have claimed squatters rights in my fully sanitized classroom and the toilet paper warehouse. Teachers are working against a steep curve but are are most are stepping outside their comfort zones and making it happen. The biggest challenge I have is helping my admin define what it is we are doing (synchronous or asynchronous learning?). Should teachers review old material and slowly roll out new concepts or standards? I know what I think, but I also know that our leadership and faculty would gladly accept some logical administrative decisiveness. Like most, I have teachers who are doing a bit too much right now: stepping onto other's official office hours with mandatory class meetings, etc. The biggest thing that has impacted my week (so far) is COVID-19.

I am really proud of my staff and how much they have accomplished this week. It has been a steep learning curve for some, but they all came together and rose to the occasion. I think some of our PLC's got a violent shove into collaboration and they are seeing the value of taking the best from everyone and using it in the best interest of the students. I haven't heard anything negative; only positives and proud moments.

Big wins: Every teacher using Google Classroom, attempting to touch base with EVERY student--do we actually do this in person? Admin is nothing but supportive, calling kids that teachers have not been able to reach.

How I've grown: Week one was really hard (the week where teachers weren't teaching yet but everything was on fire). I was trying to homeschool two kids, out together 3rd grade curriculum because Capo was on Spring Break, and my four year old's preschool won't provide any real home teaching resources. My husband and I are both working full time, so managing all this was difficult. But I learned to give my self some grace and not strive to make everything so perfect.

We had to celebrate mt daughter's ninth birthday in captivity. We managed to put something nice together and we'll have the big bash when we're all released from prison.

It has been so amazing to see everyone come together and make it happen!
WIns: Teachers have been working together as teams and have been reaching out to me more than ever-- which is wonderful! I have worked with some teachers who have been reluctant to reach out in the past.
Humanity: opportunity for teachers to see that DO, Admin, each other are humans and do care about one another--- compassion has been seen throughout this and has been extremely refreshing.
It has been nice to be with my family and I'm loving wearing sweats on my bottom half :-)
