Having to enter grade 10, which means I am now a graduating student, I am aiming for specific goals that would help me reach my goal and help me get to the next level.

SMART GOALS

S: First, I want to get all A/A+ for every term in Math. Being able to do this is such a big help for my ashape application since it would show how dedicated and hardwoking I am as a student that has multiple responsibilities outside class. Second, I want to be able to recite as often as possible to show my teacher that I participate in class and to maintain how I perform for the past grades. Lastly, I want to do well in my assessments or quizzes since those outputs are the testaments of my hardwork and it also gives me validation somehow.

Measurable:

M: Keeping track of my progresses would be fortunately easier since I have been setting the same goal for years now and I know already what to do and to whatnot. First, if I am getting grades of A or A+, that means I am achieving one of my goals. It will also show that I am committed to my words and that I am actually doing everything just to be able to get those high grades. Next, if I am participating in class and I am actually learning something from every session, I am achieving my second goal. If you are oftenly reciting in class, it will make you learn because you are actually engaging and every bit of ideas and knowledge that will be shared in class will be carved in your wind which makes you learn. Lastly, if I am getting perfect scores in quizzes or assessments, it means that I am achieving my last goal. So far in my stay here in the AJHS, I have gotten multiple perfect scores in math and I am aiming to be able to continue that habit of mine until the end of my stay here.

A: To achieve my academic goals, I'll start by dedicating focused study time to Math in every term. I'll ensure I thoroughly understand the course material, using resources like textbooks, online tutorials, and practice problems to strengthen my grasp of the subject. Consistent practice and seeking help when needed will increase my chances of earning A/A+ grades. To demonstrate dedication and hard work outside the classroom, I'll maintain a study schedule, show initiative by asking insightful questions, and actively engage with my teacher and classmates during class discussions. For recitation, I'll actively participate by answering questions, volunteering to explain solutions, and discussing my thought process with the class. Moreover, regularly attending office hours or study groups can further showcase my commitment to learning. Lastly, to excel in assessments and quizzes, I'll practice with past papers and sample questions, review class notes, and seek feedback on my performance. This preparation will not only validate my hard work but also enhance my overall understanding of the subject.

To achieve these academic goals, I'll seek support from multiple sources. First and foremost, I'll communicate with my Math teacher, expressing my dedication and commitment to earning A/A+ grades, and I'll actively engage in their classes to show my enthusiasm for the subject. I'll also lean on my classmates for study groups and peer support, creating a collaborative environment to enhance my understanding. Outside of the classroom, I'll reach out to my family for their encouragement and understanding of my responsibilities, ensuring I have the time and resources necessary for my studies. Additionally, I'll use online forums and academic resources to find answers to my questions and connect with others who share similar goals. My success will rely on this network of support, motivating me to stay focused and determined in my pursuit of academic excellence.

R: These goals are essential for me because they show that I'm really dedicated to doing well in Math. Getting high grades proves I can handle my studies while juggling other responsibilities. Participating in class by answering questions and discussing ideas lets my teacher know I'm actively involved in learning. Doing well in quizzes and tests proves that I'm working hard and getting better at Math. These goals are important for my self-confidence, future opportunities, and my overall learning experience. They help me move closer to success and personal satisfaction.

T: I think it might take a whole school year to reach these goals. That's because getting better at Math and showing more participation in class can be a gradual process. It's like a journey that needs time and effort, and a school year gives me enough time to make significant progress and hopefully achieve these goals.

For this section, I am showing you my long test 2 which I surprisingly got perfect. Getting a perfect score for this test was really shockig for me since the night before this test, I was really doing something for another subject and I was not able to study for it. But I did not really let that affect me and I said to myself that I need to perfect this long test since I got a pretty bad score from the first one. Given this, I studied during the homeroom session and between the breaks. I just set my goal to perfecting it. During the test, I just focused and not pressured myself so that I would be able to answer everything in the right way and not panic in any way. Later that day, our teacher showed us our scores and after seeing mine, I was really happy because I was not expecting that. I was really proud of myself because it testified that even in my most occupied times, I will still make effort to give equal time to my subjects so that I would get all that high scores. Having to achieve this also meant that I am achieving one of my goals to perfect my assessments. This shows my commitment to my words and goals that actually boosts my confidence that I will be needing for the rest of the school year.

I am also showing my perfected quiz. The physical copy of my long test seems to be missing and I still have to look for it. Anyways, for this quiz, I expected to have a perfect score since the topic was easy and the questions were easy too. Me and my friends did not really study for it since we relied on our stock knowledge and it worked. Also during the discussion of this topic, we were having fun so it became easy to understand and absorb the topics. After obtaining this score, I promised to myself to do everything to perfect or ace my tests.

S: Despite my best efforts, it appears that achieving A/A+ grades in every term in Math might be challenging due to my recent performance on the periodic exam and long test 3. These results have somewhat affected my overall grade, and I understand that the goal of consistently earning A/A+ may not be within reach for this term. Nevertheless, I remain committed to working hard and improving my performance in the upcoming terms. Doing well in Math is crucial not only for my academic development but also for my ashape application, as it reflects my dedication and hard work as a student with multiple responsibilities outside the classroom.

M: Active class participation and effective learning are essential aspects of my academic journey. Unfortunately, due to my demanding schedule, I haven't been able to fully meet this goal in recent times. The fatigue from my busy daily life has sometimes hindered my ability to engage actively in class discussions. However, I recognize the importance of learning and contributing to the classroom environment. Moving forward, I will work on time management and finding more effective ways to balance my commitments to ensure that I can actively participate and learn in class.

A: Looking back, I had a clear goal to do better in my math studies, but I had some big challenges. I had a busy schedule and lots of work, so I couldn't study as much as I wanted. Still, I found some time to study with my friends, and that was helpful. Even though I did well in some tests, I didn't do well in others, and that made me feel bad. To do better, I need to manage my time better, even if it's just a little bit for math. I also need to make sure that when I study with my friends, we focus on the right things. I should look at the tests I didn't do well on, figure out what I struggled with, and change how I study.

R: These goals continue to be a guiding force in my academic journey, reinforcing my determination to excel in Math. By actively engaging in class discussions and consistently performing well in quizzes and tests, I not only build confidence but also create a solid foundation for future educational and career prospects. This pathway to success, marked by dedication and continuous growth, instills a sense of purpose and fulfillment in my overall learning experience, ensuring that I remain focused and enthusiastic in my pursuit of academic achievement.

T: I believe it's an ongoing journey that may span an entire school year to fully achieve these goals. Improving in Math and becoming more active in class participation can be a gradual process. It's like embarking on a path that requires both time and effort. A school year provides me with the necessary duration to make significant progress and, hopefully, reach these goals. As of now, I'm still in the process of working on them, and I look forward to discovering more about my capabilities in the upcoming terms.

This specific test was super tough, and I remember it for a few big reasons. First, time was a real issue. My schedule was jam-packed with school stuff, so I couldn't find enough time to study properly. That left me feeling unprepared and anxious when the test day came.

Second, the load of other schoolwork added to the stress. I had so many assignments and other school activities that it was hard to focus on studying for this test. The pressure kept piling up as the test date got closer.

Then, during the actual test, I hit a mental wall. It was like my brain refused to remember the things I'd studied. This made me lose confidence and struggle to think clearly during the test.

All of these things made this test a real challenge. But it also taught me about the importance of managing time, handling stress, and finding ways to deal with mental blocks when tackling schoolwork. While it was tough, I learned valuable lessons that will help me do better in future tests.

I believe that trust is what we actually need to overcome these challenges. Things move more smoothly when you are able to relax both mentally and physically. If you don't believe in yourself, you'll simply shiver constantly, and by the time the test comes around, you won't remember anything you have studied. Simply be yourself and follow the flow. Although feeling anxious before or during an exam is normal, I only advise against being overly anxious or maintaining that state because it's unhealthy. Learn how to handle it, and put your faith in what you have studied and practiced.

Don't forget that God's greater glory is the true reason of what you are doing. Always speak with him before the exam since he will always be there for you. Tell him what particularly worries you, and he'll presumably come up with a solution. Of course, keep in mind that you still need to take such steps in order to achieve all of your goals. With God's love and assistance, you must continue to work hard. Of course you'll succeed.

I struggled with a recurring problem throughout the term – a big misunderstanding about something called discriminants in math. It wasn't a new issue; I'd been confused about it for a while. This misunderstanding made it really tough for me to understand certain math concepts, and it just got worse as the term went on.

The root of the problem was that I didn't really get what discriminants were and how they fit into math. I had trouble connecting the abstract math idea to its practical use in solving math problems. This misunderstanding created a roadblock in my learning, making it hard for me to figure out and use discriminants in various math problems.

The impact of this misunderstanding was pretty clear in my grades. I kept making mistakes in problems that involved discriminants, and that affected my test scores and overall performance. It made me lose confidence, and I felt frustrated and worried because I knew that understanding discriminants was crucial for my math studies.

Realizing that I kept making this mistake was a turning point. It showed me how important it is to tackle misconceptions head-on, seek help when needed, and put in more effort to truly understand things. While my performance for the term wasn't great, this experience taught me to be more aware of my learning challenges and to work hard to overcome them.

I was lucky to be paired with my best friend for our homework, and it turned out to be a great experience. We worked together really well, and the best part was that we both did our fair share of the work. It felt like a team effort, and we divided the tasks evenly.

We tackled the homework together, discussing the questions and helping each other when needed. We made sure that neither of us was doing all the work while the other just watched. We took turns explaining concepts to each other, and it made the homework much easier to understand.

Our teamwork paid off, and we completed the homework on time, and we both felt confident about it. It was a reminder of how working with a friend can make studying more enjoyable and productive. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I hope we can work together on more assignments in the future.
