Students were able to use varying mediums of presentation including poster board, Google slides, Prezi, etc. to showcase their understanding.

We also worked on figurative language with a culminating test. Currently, we are working through Ghost, a novel by Jason Reynolds. You may notice that some responses are longer than others. This is totally fine as we are learning to write in more than one way. Often, a succinct passage can do better than a longer one to explain what you mean. Sometimes, you need to draw more evidence from the text or take time to compare and contrast.

This piece goes through a variety of rhythmic cycles (jangdan) and includes a section of chanting blessing and a hopeful future to the audience. The unique feature of this piece is a hemiola is created between the drums and the ggwaenggwaris.
