I’m in my 3rd week of CC2CP, my assumptions are vague. Firstly, I have not heard a defined explanation of how our assignments help us develop an understanding of technology, is it through broad tasks that help reflect our personal skills? or is it more scholarly? will I learn the philosophy of innovation and the intricacies of mending technology with ideas? But however my general questions are, my predictions are what I most enjoy about the future of this course. I predict that this will not be a standard bachelorette, the course will mould itself on the broadness of its tasks, it will allow manipulation of personal skills.

Halfway through this course I have grasped a fundamental understanding towards, a transdisciplinary approach, towards presenting and towards technology and its role in society. Various seminars from each different faculties allowed for the transdisciplinary approach in this degree to foster. We observed narrations of innovation and marketing, infrastructure and technology, health and science, all within the framework of CC2CP.

Clementine Thurgoods case study grasped me to what applications we learn that would benefit society. She first observes that a case needs an Archaeology and a Paradox, she discovered that she must learn the opposing factors and using methods she allowed for a solution as to how to make kings cross thrive again. This case study inspired me to use methods of which we learn for personal use.

a highly memorable activity was the roleplaying coal factory game, each team is assigned a role, bank, workers, labour union, overseer etc, and they all had to make decisions to get their own best outcome, it helped us learn to work in a team and learn the intricate role of these people in society.

Our forefront topic, Future Cities examined the opportunities and risks for future cities with a impetus of innovation. We gathered insights into infrastructure, light rail, and innovative strategies that could allow for a more liveable city. Grasping onto nfc we learnt that this technology will have a great use in the future city. I learnt how a utopic idea could turn into a dystopic society. But mostly, future cities allowed a level of thought which inspired. Our group assignment on future cities focused on accessibility within cities, and with the use of our method cards, we applied them to create our method. As such, the analysis of future cities played a pivotal role in this subject and how we could use this subject in the real world.

We learnt this in a transdisciplinary approach; health, agriculture, business, etc. But as we learnt iunderstood the challenges to implement my creative outcome as I needed a logistic approach, thus the application of method cards allowed an ease of understanding but also allowed it to be open ended.

Empathy

In our two sessions with Nathan we explored the types and logistics of empathy in business, society and life. He explored the breadth of cognitive vs affective empathy, cognitive is perspective taking/in the shoes, affective empathy is emotional. He observed that cognitive and affective empathy are both different ways of tackling empathy, cognitive allows for a more reasoned and logistic approace, however affective is open to limitations. We were split up and given an objective, read and take notes of a classmate’s social media account, this allowed me to understand a person with different opinions to me. The person I was paired with aligned himself with extremely far reaching political ideals, I had to understand his approach. What I learnt with cognitive empathy: the reason the person had those ideals came into context and routine, he gathered most of his understandings from “Q&A” a show of which is deterioting in the way they construct debates, he was brought up in an expensive suburb with rich friends and family so the reason he might have been slightly xenophobic was because of his surroundings. What I learnt with affective empathy: he aligns himself with Trump because he sparks emotion, he manipulates the angst of sameness.

It’s the Thursday before the final task of cc2cp, this reflection will clarify the responsibility of study for second semester, how my knowledge of this course can inform my everyday life/career, how a transdisciplinary approach grants tools for understanding, and a reflection on my responsibility to this degree.
Firstly, the responsibility of which I completed tasks was lacking, I did not prioritize my time or resources, so I will take great lengths to ensure that my study term next semester will be successive. From tasks, lectures, and group work I have learnt that this course can provide tools for everyday research and innovation. The manipulation of methods allow this, by creation of basic method cards more can be created by moulding other methods. The degrees transdisciplinary approach means that the same problem can be observed from the eye of a designer, architect, builder, engineer, data architect, data engineer, programmer, developer, politician, and in collaboration creating something great.

This allows for a freeflowing dynamic within the course because the sessions allowed lecturers of all degrees to teach. Seemingly, this is what I loved about my learning experience, the assignments and lectures catered to my skills and interest.

This idea came as we had a sales representative as our lecturer, as she explored the world of sales and marketing I began to drift. In my wondering mind, I got a notification from my Uber driver account whilst she said something about a sales job that she had acquired I had a spark. Our assignment in tech lab was a tech remix, this idea wasn't as much a tech remix but it was a remix. I wrote down on a piece of paper "Uber of sales" and started to wonder. My idea was an intuitive app that would replace sales rep agencies, it links an experienced sales reps Linkedin and uses the same principle as Uber, only work when the app is on. I then thought that the app could include sales indicators and collate time spent on phone in the homescreen. I then learnt that my Idea wasn't original but still it has never been implemented, I'm constantly creating drafts for this program.

All religions have religious days that entail inviting people in need for dinner. in Judaism this is Passover, in Christianity it is Christmas, in islam it is Ramadam. As such, I devised a plan to implement a Airbnb type app of which allows hosting of homeless and unfed people for religious holidays and any other day.

PEER FEEDBACK

Peer feedback:
Throughout group sessions I have learnt the imperative that peer reflection and feedback is necessary in order to generate content. With our future cities project we grasped upon how a team can inform decision making rather than a single person. I noticed that whilst creating group reports that ideas, grammar and knowledge could be manipulated based on peer feedback. Peer feedback is mostly imperative in learning how to work with a team in industry. The benefits of this course is the industry focus, and our assignments allowed an understanding of the corporate innovation space. An example of peer feedback informing decision is the time period between our first team meeting to our last, we all had assumptions of what the project would look like, because of the peer feedback the result mended all our assumptions cohesively.
