  • "My parents are Mexican Americans and bilinguals. My mom and dad are both success stories. My mother has a college Associates Degree and is an instructor at a college. My father, who had a rougher-upbringing than my mother has been able to provide safety and stability for his family, with only his HS diploma. The way they were brought up were different, but they were able to combine the positive parenting styles they were exposed to and apply that to my brother and I."

    "Please, do not judge at all. I know it's really hard to judge a person by the way that they look. It is something that we have been taught by society but try not to judge a persons' appearance or accent. When interacting with someone who is culturally different, give them a chance and expand your own knowledge on that culture."
