Because at first it was super exciting to go on a road trip to California, but it got sad became the grandpa, then at the end everyone is happy and we got a happy end. There is always something bad happening, but then at the end that problem brings they together and help them have a happy ending. Like in the film LMS

I feel the cinematic style of this film does not fit the road trip genre. Because even though we do get wide shots, of the van and the setting. We get more close up shots like them talking or just being in the van. I feel like that goes more into tragicomedy.

Because most of the setting we see in the films are open spaces, the van, gas station, diner etc. In a tragicomedy the setting are more in a house, town, or a hospital. Even though in the beginning and middle of the film the setting is a hospital that's still not a common setting we see in the film.

I think it does fit the tragicomedy because in the film LMS we see many close up shoots. I feel like that give it more intensity to the scene, and it can also make the scene seem more funny. When olive was feeling sad because she thought that she was ugly, but then her grandpa made her feel better and started rowing at each other. In that scene it was mostly close up shots making it more funny.

This movie shows that two genres can work together, Because even though the film LMS looks like a road trip film. If we actually pay attention, we can see that it also can relate to being a tragicomedy film. The director did a excellent job connecting the both genres. Because if we didn't compare, then I wouldn't have noticed that there were two genres connected into one film.
