Using Tech with Centers

So excited for this summer PD series! Love the format, and am looking forward to learning and sharing with others. I was especially interested in the segment about using Google Classroom in the library setting. Getting my own Chromebook cart next year, and love the idea of students sharing their work through Google Forms, Docs, and Slides. I'd be interested to find out if anyone has used this, and would welcome any tips/ideas that have worked well for you. As an aside, Shelver is a favorite center in our library! @CarrieJHogan

Finally, an easy way to make audio recordings that can be shared via QR codes and played on the iPad! Trying this one as soon as I get to work tomorrow!

I created a google form to use with my question of the day center.

I created a QR code for students to access the form from their iPads.

It was a handy way to recognize those kiddos who hand responded correctly

I'm really excited to try the Gum App with my students. I could see it as a great tool to use when we do Book Reviews on the MN Youth Reading Award: Maud Hart Lovelace Book Award.

I also want to thank you for providing this PD. I love the practical ideas that I can easily adapt and implement.

Task Cards/ Symbaloo

I like the task cards. It will be a way to coordinate different centers. Students will always know to look for the task card. I have already started to use symbaloo as bookmarks on my webpage. I embed the webmix for each grade or topic on the page. @camatthews

I feel like a kid in a candy store! There are so many GREAT apps to choose from its hard to pick just one. After watching the video, I began to rethink the centers that I had planned for my library. I am interested in using Google forms, Google slides, and Vocaroo as part of my centers. @PattyAuthement

I would like to use Gum with other schools in my district. It would be a great way to share comments and reviews with other students outside of our school. A little nervouse about not being able to filter. @Margolibrarian

Wow so many new ideas to try out ! I am just primary children so I have to play with ideas to see how they work to know if they are good for my age group. 1-2 where able to sign in on a google form this year and I love the idea of signing in to center activities!

I loved all the ideas and wrote down lots of notes. I went back and saved everything to a folder titled "Tech Camp" that way when fall rolls around I know where everything is!

I love the thought of recording a video or audio directions of what to do at each center! Then I do not have to keep explaining to my little ones who have trouble reading my step-by-step directions. ~Mandy Watson

Newsela and Wonderopolis

I'm excited that Newsela has each news event written at 5 differ Lexile levels and that Wonderopolis can be searched by topic and grade level. "Spruce Up a Your Centers with Technology" will be viewed many times by me because I want to try so many of the ideas shared by Tony Vincent. I can tell this summer camp will be one that will improve my library. @JoReeding
