First Grove Trash Can Experience

Experiencing trash can Friday for the first time was exciting. Seeing it in person made me realize how big a tradition it is at Ole Miss, especially when comparing liveliness to game day. I also loved seeing the Grove come alive with school spirit, which gave me a deeper understanding of campus life through this tradition.

Family Weekend

It was family weekend so I took my mom and sister to the square. They loved seeing the liveliness, and I enjoyed showing them around. Seeing family was great because I was homesick before they came. Previously, I had only briefly explored the square, but with them I explored many new places. I now know my favorite places to shop, and I’m obsessed with square pizza!

Checking out the Turner Center

My friends and I were looking for something to do on campus so we checked out the turner center. I had no clue where it was previously or what was in it and I learned that there is a pool. We explored the facility and did a workout together and now I know where it is and what's there for me in the future!

Exploring Campus

I live in the Northgate apartments and in between it and Crosby there is a little circle area with pillars. I pass it everyday and have always wondered what it was. After checking it out I realized it represents the greek life values that were made in the University's past. I did this out of curiosity and I'm glad that I learned some new things about the history here.

Fountain

My friends visited and when I was giving them a tour of campus we came across the fountain for the first time. Seeing the fountain for the first time is a big moment for incoming freshman and it felt like a full circle moment from seeing photos to seeing it in the flesh.

Rebel Market

This was my first time going to rebel market. I have seen it before but never actually been inside and tried the food. I liked seeing how many options there are here and being able to have a variety of food is great. I will be coming back here for the deserts because I had the best lemon loaf of my life here.

CSTI Building

I went to check out the new CSTI building today because one of my teachers mentioned how advanced and new it was. The inside is so nice and I have a class here next semester so I'm really glad I was able to check it out before next semester.

Cinderella Play

This was my first time going to the Ford Center and I saw the Cinderella play. I really enjoyed this experience because my mom would always take up to the theatre when I was younger. It was really cool seeing fellow students with that much talent and passion put on the performance. I will definetly be attending another.

First time at PakMail

This was my first first time going to Pakmail. I learned that my packages get delivered to Crosby and not Brown. I'm really glad I checked out this new place because I online shop a lot (its a problem), and I know I will be here a lot.

Random Late Night Concert in the Grove

I was walking back from the dining hall and I heard music coming from the grove so I followed it. When I got there, a band of students was playing to a group of about 5 people. They were really good and I sat down for a while to listen. It was super cool stumbling across this and supporting fellow students.

Semi-Formal

My boyfriend from home goes to school here and invited me to his semi-formal on a boat. I was slightly of nervous because I didn't know anyone but him, but I'm really happy I went because I met many of my current friends at this event and it was great to experience this with fellow students.

First Time at Urgent Care

This was my first of many visits to urgent care in Oxford. I have never gone to the doctors alone so I was nervous. This experience taught me how to get everything taken care of independently and where it's located in Oxford. Relating to campus life, I realized how many people get sick at Ole-Miss, given the waiting-room was packed with fellow students.

Finals Week Self Care Activities Outside the Union

It's finals week and I am really stressed so I went to the self care tents outside the union. I was alone so I didn't get a video but I smashed a plate at one tent and got a Celsius and stress ball at another table, which really helped relieve my stress. This informed me on the the uplifting and supportive community of students and groups at Ole Miss.
