- Although I can write quite fluently and enjoy the process, the majority of my writing takes the form of essays or other school assignments. On rare occasions I will journal or write creatively for fun and I hope to write more just for me this summer.
- I love helping my tutees elucidate their ideas and improve their confidence. After each session I feel like I have learned so much and I am always impressed by the tutee’s skill and how their brain works.
- I usually like to receive feedback regarding the composition of my writing piece is, how the ideas flow together, and how well the paragraphs relate back to and support my thesis. Sentence level corrections are also always welcome though!

What is your relationship to writing?

I generally write about anything and everything that is considered more or less futile in this materialistic realm; beauty, spirituality, series of tragedies, paranoia induced musings, a few pieces of my life or my personality. When I write about others, or construct stories as a form of escapism, I give life to characters that are very different from me but with hauntingly relatable circumstances. I can assure you that there is nothing more exhilarating than creating these little beings of paper, shaping them as I see fit and deciding their lives, their environment. Everything can suddenly become a subject of inspiration.

I think that my love for writing (mostly for myself since I do not consider my pieces good enough to be out there) emanates from my passion for reading that I have had since I was a little girl. I could not survive if my journal was ever taken away.

What is your relationship to tutoring?

Tutoring could be a way for me to help kids connect to this wonderful world of writing without ever feeling anxious or inadequate.

What type of tutoring would you like to receive as a writer?

Constructive criticism with a twinge of encouragement and enthusiasm would be highly appreciated.

In my early teens I wasn’t much of a writer. In fact, I had never thought of myself getting into writing. However, somewhere down the line I developed a taste for writing through journaling and essays.

Tutoring to me has always been rewarding. I love to help students out with their problems and go through the process of “what’s wrong” so that they can understand themselves better. While I am at it, I get to learn new things which is what makes the job enjoyable.

I have had an on-and-off-again relationship with writing. I love to write and share, but I feel anxious when other people see me as only a writer, or expect that I am always well-spoken and artistically inclined when I write anything.
I love helping other people overcome obstacles and join them on their individual journeys as thinkers and writers.
I prefer to be asked open-ended, thought-provoking questions when I am receiving tutoring. I feel most supported when I can talk through my ideas with someone and discover things in conversation that I might not have noticed if I was reviewing my work alone.

1. The relationship that I have with writing is that we're friends. It has been there when I needed an outlet to vent, when I need to express myself without judgement, and when I needed to be seen. So it isn't a far stretch to say writing is my friend.
2. Tutoring is something that’s similar to the wind. There are times where it can be nice, where the breeze feels chill against your skin. Or times where it can be difficult and rough, but it always brings a fresh breath of air.

1. My relationship with writing has it's high and lows. Brainstorming is very fun playing around ideas. Lows articulating my ideas concisely and more straightforward.

1. What is your relationship to writing?
Writing is very important to me. I view it as a creative outlet. It allows me to explore myself, the world and other people. I somewhat consider writing as a super power-- it kind of comes natural to me. I like that it's something that puts me to work but also gives me a sense of relaxation. Writing is something I value and that will always be a part of my life.
2. What is your relationship to tutoring?
I'm a very organized and specific person so sometimes I desire and have the habit of pointing out every error instead of letting the student find the mistakes themselves. I do this out of compassion and support because I don't want the student to miss any useful advice. I'm only looking out hahaha. But I really love being a tutor. I love being able to help and assist others.
3. What type of tutoring would you like to receive?
I like specific tutoring. I desire a tutor who is warm and makes me feel comfortable, but who also is very clear and specific about my writing and any mistakes I may have or suggestions they'd like to share.
