The teachers said we would most likely be out of school for an extra week or two. We had been practicing online calls just in case too. When i got home I knew we were going to be done with school that year so i felt relieved and happy that i had an extra summer. But as the weeks went on I realized how bad the situation had gotten and it wasn’t going to be as fun as i thought it would be. My parents were terrified because they didn’t know how to provide for us. I would spend most of my time with my brother and watching TV because we couldn’t go do anything. Today, the virus is still a serious topic but now we know how to handle it ex. The vaccine. The government has put in new regulations and safety procedures to protect people in public. School has also enforced new rules from temperature checks to wiping down the tables. It was going to be a fun time from the sights we were going to see to the places we were going to stay at. Unfortunately, the pandemic hit and the trip was cancelled. Ever since the pandemic hit, I have learned a few things. I have learned how to be patient and caring. Almost everyone had to experience the time in quarantine and learning how to spend their time there. For me it was talking to my friends and fishing in my neighborhood. I would do this for hours each day and it got pretty boring after a few days. I also realized that this is how life would be during that time and how it was necessary in order to keep people safe. I think my understanding of the world has matured also. I am very fortunate for my family having to be doctors. Unfortunately, many people lost their jobs and were forced into poverty, affecting  many lives. It is going to be rough and boring but if you find stuff to do the time will pass by quickly. I suggest to start working out by running or swimming in the pool for a long period of time. Don’t sit inside all day playing video gams, you can do that at night. You should also listen to mom and help her around because it is especially hard for her doing her job and taking care of us. I would also focus on school for the last quarter of 7th grade. Just because we aren’t in person doesn't mean that the grades don’t count. If you don’t take the class as serous as you did in school your grades will drop and your parents will get angry at you.
