i agree that teenagers spend too much time on their mobile phones. this is because most of the teenagers nowadays have a mobile phone by their side all the time. as a result, during their free time, such as taking the train or waiting for their friends, they would use their phones to entertain themselves and play online games instead of doing something beneficial such as reading a book, where u can gain more vocabulary or interact with their friends.
however, despite this, not everyone has an addiction to their phones including me. i would much rather interact with my family members and friends instead of using my phone all thr time. in my opinion, although it is important to have fun, it is more important to interact and communicate with one another. my friends and i would usually spend our time either studying or talking to one another instead of playing games or using social media apps.

Yes i do agree with this statement. As a personal experience, whenever i go out with my friends or even my family, they are always preoccupied with their phones and with my family, whenever my mother or father asks my brother any questions, he either only gives a one-worded answer or he completely ignores them. In the past, my entire family used to go out every weekend for a family day and I remember how it used to be so fun! Without our mobile phones or any distractions, we were all very bonded and close. But over time as my older brother grew up, he had lesser time and became more busy. He also spent more time on his phone rather than talking to me. One of this instances was when our parents found one day where we were all free to go on a “ Family Day “ event organised by Standard Charted. Even during the trip to Marina Bay where the event was held, the car ride was silent and everyone was either sleeping or having their eyes glued to their phones. When we got there, it became even worse. My brother was completely ignoring my parents and even had his headphones on! I remember how livid father looked because my mother was on the verge of tears after my brother asked them to shut up. I think that mobile phones and the life of teenagers could tear the bonds of families.
On the other hand, my friends always tell me about their festivals they attend with their families. Like the “ colour run “ that my friend invited me to go with her and her family. I can still see the smiles on everyone’s faces while we were conversing. I had compared my friend’s family to mine countless times. My friend’s family was bonded and they had a rule of not using their phones unless necessary. I felt that my family should have that rule too. Perhaps that way we could actually spend time talking to each other instead of ignoring each other.

I partially agree with that statement. Many teenagers nowadays only care about their phone as a result of technology advancements. Most teenagers are caught up with playing video games on their phones and neglect their surroundings. Teenagers therefore kind of break up bonds with their family members. They prefer their phone over their family members and I have seen teenagers shout at their family members when they ask the teens to stop playing their phones and do something together.
Although some teenagers are caught up with their phones, many teenagers still prefer to interact with their family because family matters more to them. For me, I prefer my family over my phone because my family means everything to me. My phone can be replaced but my family cannot.

I agree.
Most teenagers nowadays like to play games on their phone as it is more entertaining than going to the park or the playground. They would rather spend their time on their social media platform than spend time with their families. They enjoy online gaming with their friends as it is both fun and allows them to bond together. As their family members are always asking them to reduce their phone usage, they usually do not like to game with them as their family members do not understand the game as much as their friends does.

Yes, I agree.
Most of the teenagers own a phone. They mainly use their phones on social media and gaming. There are many disadvantages of using a phone such as there will be a lack of a face-to-face interaction and addiction. We must also be careful when we are using the internet as we might be a victim of cyber-bullying. I have a friend who was cyber-bullied, she was being called nasty names online and her unglams were made into memes together with nasty texts added to it. She was devasted and was negative about life. I lent her a listening ear and suggested that she confront a teacher. The teacher councilors her and thereafter, she felt better. Hence, we must be careful when we are using the Internet.

During lunch breaks, i see most of the students playing mobile games or using social media on their phones instead of socialising with their friends. They tend to neglect their friends presence, and focus on their phones instead. This may cause them to be even more addicted to their phones and may also drift away from their friends.

Yes, I agree.
In this day and age, we can see most teenagers looking at their mobile device everywhere and anywhere. However, I think it's terrible to just generalize teenagers into either spending too much time on devices or not spending too much time on devices. For example, one teenager who spends about 4 hours a day surfing the web or doing anything else on their phone, computer, or tablet could be spending too much time but another teenager spending the same amount of time could be considered not spending too much time online. It depends on so many more factors including but not limited to what the time is being spent on, how that teenager performs at school, and whether that time spent on the device is hindering things like socializing or spending time with family. As a teenager, I have a friend who spends a massive amount of time on either their computer or phone. However, she does well at school, maintains good relationships with friends, and is relatively healthy. Therefore she doesn't spend too much time on technological devices.

I agree as we normally use out phones most of the time to chat with our friends on Whatsapp, scroll through Instagram or play games. Most of the time when i go out alone or with friends, we use the phone more than talk face to face and spend time together. We sometimes even use our phone till we have to go home and sometimes the meetup is even because we have not seen each other for a long time and we just waste our time. For example, my friend plays games every day and I feel that she spends too much time on the phone and sometimes forgets about doing her homework.

Although efficient, this "solution" is what leads to mobile addictions.
(No time, imma leave now)

Yes I agree.
Many teenagers were introduced to mobile devices at a young age thus it has been seen as a part of their life and something that they cannot live without. Though mobile devices provide many conveniences, many teenagers have been over using their mobile devices. Most of us would find that the internet is more interesting than the real world thus many of the teenagers have used their mobile devices as a platform for communication and entertainment instead of doing it in real life. Personally, I often get too engrossed with my phone to interact with people or my family. I can sometimes use my phone for three to five hours straight and get so engrossed that i neglect all the stuff that i habe to do, often leading to incomplete homework and assignments. However, I disagree to this statememt too as teenagers are also capable of knowing when to stop and interact with real people. Teenagers are often lively and energetic in real life making real life interactions with them easy

Yes, I agree with this statement. Some teenagers like me use our phones to play mobile games or use social media idly. They don't bother confronting the real world and seek refuge in the world of social media because of pressure and insecurities. This is making us more anti-social and cold-hearted. Personally, I use my phone mostly to play mobile games because I don't have social media accounts, since I am too lazy to maintain it. However, because of me playing my mobile games, I sometimes knock into people and keep silent when someone is talking to me. Hence, I feel that teenagers are spending too much time on their phones.
However, some teenagers do not use their mobile devices because they don't have one. This is reducing the number of people using their mobile devices and hence in a total count, not a lot of people overuse their phones.

Yes, I agree that teenagers spend too much time on their mobile devices. Technologies are advancing as we speak, and there is no denying that technology has brought great convenience as well as enhancing lives. However, technology is accentuated with their cons, as parents only acknowledge the public's paradigm of it. For teenagers, in the past, phones were a privilege to many as it was expensive. In the past. teenagers usually get their phones when they reach their secondary education, however, now, we can see even students at primary 1 and 2 getting their own mobile phone. Mobile devices also causes many cases of addiction to games, especially teenagers , and when this happens, teenagers would start to neglect their studies and even their own family, rebelling and having sudden mood swings. I think that it is rather quixotic for this phenomenal sign as phones are, in reality, are of lesser importance than our loved ones

I agree to this statement. Currently, it is uncommon to see teenagers not with a phone. Teenagers are now often using a phone where ever they go. Even young students in primary school have a phone and will use it on a daily basis. Mobile phones bring about great benfits to it's user such as access to internet, ability to find directions and many more functions. However, many teenagers may often misuse the phone. Whenever teenagers are doing projects or eat together, they are often using their phones and are not interacting with one another. During family meeting for special occasions, teenagers are also using their phones. On a daily basis, teenagers will use their phone during meal time and will not be interesting with their family members. Interaction with family is very important as teenagers rarely get a chance to interact with one another. If teenagers continue to use their phone during meal time, the interactions that teenagers with their family members will be limited. This may result in family members relationship being affected. Family members will be more awkward when interacting with one another.
Mobile phones should also be used by teenagers for at most 2 hours before taking a rest as harmful radiation from the phone can greatly affects ones well being. Teenagers are often hooked and addicted to their phones and may neglect their sleep. Sleeping late for teenagers bring about negative impacts to teenagers as sleep is important. Sleep deprivation can lead to teenagers to depression and anxiety. Hence, teenagers should reduce their time spent on their phone and spend more time interacting with others.
