George was the one who literally killed Gatsby however Daisy was the person all behind it. She went to a tea party with Gatsby which pissed Tom off so he blamed it on Gatsby which overall led to George shooting him. George’s only motivation was that he was told that Gatsby did it however if George knew that Tom was cheating with his wife then maybe he would of killed Tom instead.

Tom Buchanan was ultimately responsible for Gatsby's death. Toms problems kept falling onto Gatsby, like Myrtle running into the street which started the whole ordeal. Tom took daisy away from him even though daisy didn’t really want to. Then eventually Tom told George that Gatsby killed Myrtle. This wasn't even true and led to George going to the extreme leading to the end of both of their lives.

Gatsby murdered himself. This is because he couldn’t let go of the past and kept trying to go back to daisy and trying to remake the past. Because of this Tom started to get jealous of Gatsby and told George Wilson that Gatsby killed Myrtle and that gave George the motivation to kill Gatsby.

I think gatsby was the reason behind it. He bought a house right next to daisy and had a green light facing daisy's house. Gatsby tried many ways to catch daisy's attention. Therefore gatsby is the reason for his death. If he had stayed away from daisy and moved on this would have never happen.

George literally killed Gatsby. But looking back, Tom is the reason Gatsby is dead. This is because Tom was cheating on Daisy with Myrtle which is the reason she is even part of the story. Also, Tom sent Daisy and Gatsby together to drive which is when Myrtle was killed which is the overall reason that Gatsby was Murdered.

I think Gatsby got himself killed because if he never decided to try and get Daisy back he never would have gotten caught up with Tom, Myrtle, George, or even Nick who he used to get to Daisy which means he never would have died. His deep love for Daisy basically killed him because he wasn’t strong enough to let her go or to at least mind his own business.

George was the one mainly responsible, however others were involved in the events that led to his death mainly Daisy. Daisy’s actions led to his death because she was the one who was actually driving the car, and she is the one who really killed Myrtle. Tom also told George that Gatsby was the one driving and that he was the one who killed Myrtle.

I think that because of the events that happened in previous chapters and characters actions, you can charge Tom because he didn’t want his wife to go to jail. If Tom didn’t say that Gatsby “killed” his wife, then Gatsby would still be alive. Yes Tom did kill Gatsby but because of Tom’s selfish nature Gatsby is dead.

Tom’s selfish and ego character caused problems for Gatsby which makes Gatsby keep going for more and more from Daisy, the decision of where Tom accuses and blames Gatsby for Myrtle’s death shows that Tom was at many moments jealous of Gatsby’s admiration and true love for Daisy to where he tells George it was Gatsby. Ultimately George kills Gatsby which also George kills himself too

Tom daisy and George all had a role in killing Gatsby , Daisy had pretty much known that Gatsby loved her and played along with him in front of her husband and went over to his house during afternoons and such aswell as Tom being very narcissistic and egotistical having an affair . Daisy was behind the wheel when Myrtle got ran over , daisy dint know what Myrtle looked like nor met her in person. but Tom said it was Gatsby who killed Myrtle to the husband of the woman he was having an affair with. To most likely deflect the blame and any suspicion of Tom or daisy . And George literally killed Gatsby with the weapon under false pretenses.

George killed Gatsby, but It was Tom's fault since he blamed Gatsby. Tom caused that murder, adults make mistakes but that doesn't cause a death, I think it was completely Tom's fault, and also he was the one who was having an affair with Myrtle. Just like there could be more guilty parties since Gatsby is the one who bought a house in front of Daisy.

I think it is Tom’s fault because Tom started holding a grudge against Gatsby for chasing Daisy still. Even though he was cheating on his wife he didn’t want to loose her so Tom told George that it was Gatsby who killed Myrtle. He seemed to be blaming Gatsby for reconnecting with Daisy even though Gatsby wasn’t the only one trying to reconnect with the past relationship. Tom wouldn’t turn in his own wife and blame her but since he thought Gatsby was initiating the reconnection, he told George it was Gatsby.

Although George held the weapon the person who was really responsible for Jay Gatsby’s death is both Gatsby himself and Tom. If Gatsby weren’t so stuck on the past and kept insisting on rekindling his relationship with Daisy, Tom wouldn’t have lied and told George that the person who killed Myrtle was Gatsby. But also Tom played a big role as well because telling George wasn’t really necessary he just wanted to do it in spite because of what was going on between Daisy and Gatsby. Which is why they are both responsible for Gatsby’s death.
