         <description><![CDATA[<div>Scout is questioned at school about Atticus defending Tom Robinson. When Scout comes home to ask Atticus about it she uses the N word like every one else and Atticus tells her not to. He is asking her to be different from everyone else. I think he is doing this because he knows that using that word is derogatory and unkind.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Scout met Cecil Jacobs in the schoolyard and he started talking about his dad and they were about to fight but remembered the what Atticus had said about the fighting. Scout remembered that Atticus had said to not fight and to basically be the bigger man. This memory is important because it helped him realize that he did not have to fight him and gave him the strength to walk away.<br><br></div>]]></description>

This is out of character for Scout because she had never turned down a fight. This shows the influence that Atticus's words had on her as well as Scout's character development in the story.<br><br></div>]]></description>
