1.Don't stick your chopsticks in the bowl or knock on it.

Sticking ur chopsticks into cooked rice means performing rituals to honor the dead; don't knock on the bowl with chopsticks because that's how homeless people ask for money.

2.Taboos about numbers

Taiwanese society generally believes that "four" is a taboo number because it sounds like "death" in Mandarin, and in many places, floors or room numbers containing "four" are skipped in buildings and elevators. Especially in a hospital, I can assert it's impossible to see Ward No. 4 or Bed No. 4 or the fourth floor, they mostly use "3H" to replace it, it means "three high" I guess.

3.The meaning of different fruits

Apple: It sounds like “peace” in Mandarin, which represents peace and good fortune.

Orange: Its homophonic meaning is "auspicious" in Mandarin, which represents good luck.

Pineapple: The Taiwanese pronunciation is "Wang Lai", which symbolizes in prosperity and thriving business.
