I currently have six kindergarten students with severe autism and it's a whirlwind of excitement every day! My students certainly have some of the highest needs I have ever witnessed in an educational setting, but my students make incredible accomplishments. In the accident he broke his neck, femur, and arms. It was a traumatic experience for my family and required many changes. It was present at school, during social situations, and experiences away from my mom. My parents believed in mind over matter and did not feel comfortable putting me on medication as a child. It wasn't always easy to understand at times and there was a lot of my childhood spent upset and wondering what was wrong with me. Learning the power of breath and learning how to calm the body and mind down holistically has really helped me. I have become very passionate about yoga and meditation for treating my mental health issues.
