Kunta Kinte is a tragic figure to me. He was living peacefully in his home country and one day a group of white colonist come and hunt them down, load them up on a ship, take them into a foreign country where they know nothing about, and force them into slavery. Him and his people were beaten and forced to give up their freedom for the rest of their lives. Even the little bits of themselves like their names were forcefully ripped away from them. They were also taken away from their families, kids, parents, friends etc. The way I define tragedy is when peace is interrupted and when justice isn't served. Something unexpected and severe in a way that transforms lives for the worst.

Her father passed away when she first started to use. It has caused a serve impact on her relationship with her mom, sister, and closest friends. Rue became manipulative, violent, and verbally abusive. This is a tragedy character because she has several opportunities and a lot of help to live a better, healthier life but always chooses the use of drugs.

I define a tragic figure as someone who isn't able to stay strong and can't put up a fight. Someone who gives up easily and doesn't see the positive in an event or the light at the end of the tunnel. For a recent example, since college admission started to release, many students are sad and have given up because they didn't get into their dream school. I believe this is a tragedy because you should let this that are beyond your control define you and you shouldn't give up easily even with the obstacles.

A tragic figure in general to me is a protagonist whose choices cause them to have a downfall. The tragic figures try to include traits such as compassion and courage, yet, they seem to fail while confronting their main situation, usually because of judgment. Tragedy to me is defined as something that goes very badly and creates sadness, a well-known one would be death.
