Incorporating visual design, or making things pretty, is important because it makes content and messaging clearer and easier to read or understand, which in turn makes it more engaging - an impact that is often overlooked by leaders without a design background (EX: incorporating hierachy to fit more information on a page in an organized way rather than just making text all the same size and shrinking it down)
