I've made countless memories there including with my parents.
I was a very active adult in my 20's, joining the air force was frightening at first but I start to get accustom to it an eventually became a second lieutenant in 6 years. I than graduated from my Air force test pilot school. Chosen as the second group of astronauts I than was able to be on Gemini 4. We launched on June 3rd, 1965 a day I'll never forget.

My partner James McDivitt an I got to know a lot about each other on the shuttle as it shot through earth's atmosphere. James told me about how dark and gruesome the Korean War was in 1951 while I gave more positive stories about my wife an children. 
The windows on the shuttle were quite small but the inside of the rocket was something out of a sci-fi movie! Wires were hidden behind blank walls, computers were out in the open strapped to metal arms hanging from the celling. The whole place was breath taking and James thought the same but we came here for a mission not a gallery walk. 
Speaking of walks I had the honor to be the first American to walk in space! My two kids Bonnie and Higgins sent letters to the space station nearly everyday about how they miss me. Higgins is a courageous and fearless child with many ambitious hopefully he is able to chase his dreams when I'm gone.
