Furthermore, one of the primary modes of education delivery has transitioned from traditional classrooms to the virtual world–the online classroom. More and more colleges and universities are recognizing the advantages of online educational programs, mostly to stay current in a rapidly changing digital environment, but also to generate other revenue streams and to provide students more flexibility to work at their own speed.
When combined with the other basic components of new pedagogies in the formal learning process, online learning resources become tools that promote more inclusive, social learning, rather than only isolated learning by highly motivated students.
