Therefore, if each race and gender are well represented in political office, they will be given an equal opportunity to bring out and advocate their respective perspective, ideas, and culture. This helps avoiding misinterpretation and mismatch of perception because they themselves will be able to define their selves.

Is it acceptable for women to breastfeed in public?

By: Stephanie S. Rabara
      CULARTS 12A-1

Women can’t show any part of their body in public. However, breastfeeding is an exception. Breastfeeding is an act wherein the mother will feed their baby with their milk coming from their breast. Women is allowed to breastfeed their children in public. Is it wrong to feed the baby whenever he or she is hungry? The mother is allowed to breastfeed their children anytime and anywhere, wherever and whenever their baby is hungry. As long as the mother is allowed in a certain area she can breastfeed or nurse her child there. There is really nothing wrong with the idea of a mother feeding their child in public places, such as in the restaurant, at the mall, in a movie theater, in the jeep or in the middle of the church service.

Breastfeeding is protected by the ordinance of Expanded Breastfeeding Promotion Act of 2009, wherein the government is supporting the breastfeeding moms, and breastfeeding is not prohibited but allowed in public. Breast milk is the best food especially for the infants because it contains essential nutrients that are completely suitable for them. It is also nature’s first immunization, enabling the infant to fight potential serious infection. It contains growth factors that enhance the maturation of an infant’s organ systems. Towards this end, the State shall promote and encourage breastfeeding and provide the specific measures that would present opportunities for mothers to continue expressing their milk and/or breastfeeding their infant or young child.

Some of our esteemed legislators are battling it out via public comments on public breastfeeding. Should there be any restrictions on breastfeeding in public? Breastfeeding is not exhibitionism, it is a method of feeding an infant directly from the breast of the mother. There is no reason to shame a woman by making rude comments every time they breast feed in public. You’re being narrow-minded when you judge mother who is breastfeeding in public. It is acceptable for woman to breastfeed in pubic, because it is the right of a child to be fed. Breastfeeding is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of, especially because of its health benefits.
http://www.officialgazette.gov.ph/2010/03/16/republic-act-no-10028/
http://elitedaily.com/women/no-shaming-public-breastfeeding/1161100/

Should Barbie be Banned?

Arjohn D. Suerte
Children imitates and believes anything that they see like the behavior or actions of somebody older than them like their parents or something they watch like action or cartoons and sometimes they tend to hurt one another in playing and an example would be role playing. This is a part of growing up where children imitates to build their selves like their own behavior, attitude or actions however the things they imitate can be dangerous for them for it has long lasting effects on a person like his mentality. A great example would be the toys they play with and its effects on a child.

Dolls, the toy girls play with when they were young and one of the most famous example is Mattel's Barbara Millicent Roberts or simply Barbie that was created by Ruth and Elliot Handler, the co-founders of Mattel. Since Barbie's debut on March 9, 1959 on American International Toy Fair in New York it has taken the world by storm. Today Barbie has become a phenomenal icon for girls all around the world. And up to date Mattel has sold over one billion of Barbie dolls or one is being sold every three seconds somewhere around the world.

Barbie has been criticized for being to perfect to be the real thing like in the 1996 study found out that if she is a real woman she would have a height of 5'7" and her measurements would be 32" for bust, 16" for waist and 29" for the buttocks and if she her necks circumference is staggeringly 9 inches which is very scary and over exaggerated like being too skinny, sexy and making children too obsessed about often leading to Barbie Syndrome which means the drive, often of adolescent girls, to attain impossible standards of beauty projected by toys and the media, resulting to failure and frustration, results to low self-esteem/self-confidence, eating disorder mainly anorexia (self starvation and lack of appetite) or bulimia (purging with method like forced vomiting, use of drugs or laxatives, and prolonged exercise) this thing a girl would do to attain the Barbie image of innocently beautiful doll that is perfect in all aspects. Barbie also teaches the children to be materialistic by launching never ending arrays of luxury clothes and mansions.

Many has protested against the Doll but failed and also many competitors also invented dolls that are unlike Barbie but have not succeeded. Barbie has to be banned for it does not reflect the true beauty of a woman because unlike Barbie a woman can be curvy, has different colors of skin like black, brown, olive, and others, or she can be tall or petite and as they say "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" in which people all over the world cannot judge the beauty of a woman for their is no standard to define beauty and we all have our own opinion about this.
Source:
http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/barbie-makes-her-debut
https://www.thoughtco.com/history-of-barbie-dolls-1991344
http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/life/g2530/barbie-dolls-history-facts/?slide=5
https://itunes.apple.com/ao/app/barbie-fashionistas/id502046597?mt=8
http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Barbie+Doll+Syndrome
http://www.rcpsych.ac.uk/healthadvice/problemsdisorders/anorexiaandbulimia.aspx

by: Trishan Badua
What does it mean to be persecuted religiously? According to the Wikipedia religious persecution means "the systematic mistreatment of an individual or group of individuals as a response to their religious beliefs or affiliations or lack thereof". Many have believed and fought for what they believe in, but many of them also had been harassed, murdered, and was tortured because of what the belief systems they are practicing/ doing. In the earlier times(A.D. 30). Religious persecution had already happened and it is still happening now a days. In the national context of the Philippines, this persecution is still happening due to the force of another religion to the other. As a citizen of it, I am more than aware that this also happens inside the country and not only outside of it. Who are the persecutors of these affiliations? Is it right and just to be persecuting in accordance to the religion? And does religious persecution impact the people's lives in their religions?

The news often centers its reports around homicide, rape, and gang related cases and also killing. With these types of activities being promoted over charity and good will activities, it is hard to see the difference between right and wrong. This could cause people to use violence as a source of attention, knowing that it is recognized by the public. Many TV shows actually base themselves around violence in the form of fighting and murder. If Millions of children spend hours per week watching television, and this cumulative exposure to violent images can shape young minds in unhealthy ways, how can the parents prevent How can the parents prevent the kids seeing inapplicable things on television? But one question was asked, should single people be able to adopt children as easy as couples? Well, as a student who think that this argument was bit tough, let me explain what a child needs. A child must be raised by two people with different sex. A child needs a male and a female model to relate to as they grow. So, when a child was raised by a single parent and there will be lots of arrangements. But single people really capable of adopting? I've read an article about adopting. It was stated that marital status isn't a barrier to adopt a child. But for me, if it's not a barrier, how is it assured that a single parent can do his/her responsibility as a parent knowing when they need to go to work. There must be at least one at-home parent to monitor the child.

By: Lagmay Marc Ivan

According to Wikipedia, Women in the government in the modern era are under-represented in most countries worldwide. Why are women struggling to get and stay elected? As of January 2017, the global participation rate of women in national-level parliaments is 23.3%. A number of countries are exploring measures that may increase women's participation in government at all levels, from the local to the national. Is electing more women is something that could make a real difference for the country as a whole? When it comes to honesty, intelligence and a handful of other character traits they value highly in leaders.
Having more local female politicians can boost aspiration and educational achievement among young women, according to a landmark study co-authored by MIT economist Esther Duflo and published in Science. That makes this study all the more powerful: Simply having a prominent example of a female leader shifted people’s attitudes around women’s capabilities, and inspired young women to dream bigger and aim higher. Having examples of female success can also elevate how women think about themselves. Basically having more female officials is so underrated, they can lead a country with their intelligence and humility and, it would probably change how people collectively think about women as well.
Women can be just as effective leaders as men.

https://thinkprogress.org/what-happens-when-you-elect-women-according-to-science-5c1e9a87a380/

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women_in_government

https://www.google.com.ph/?gfe_rd=cr&dcr=0&ei=t4i-WazQOsbo8AeW_JyACQ&gws_rd=ssl

https://www.rappler.com/move-ph/124248-women-politics-governance

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/gender-bias-role-in-elections_us_564357b4e4b045bf3ded2245

SHOULD REALITY TV SHOWS HAVE REGULATIONS? by: Jan Michael T. Ancheta

NEW :)
-
INTRO:
Television shows were and are circulating everywhere all around the world, becoming part of people's lives. Sometimes, it seems that people's lives are not complete when they don't watch their favorite TV shows. Each shows contain specific themes in which people will easily go with the flow of their emotions. Downside is that, in reality TV shows, it is sometimes not appropriate for the viewers. In my own opinion, reality TV shows must have regulations.
_
BODY:
Television sets started to appear since 1930's. Further enhancements were made to enhance its preview and make it more colorful before the eyes of the viewers. TV vary in shapes, from box type to modern flat screen TV. Whenever people watch, they get attach to one or more shows that captures their interests. When these attachments grow stronger, it becomes part of their lives. In relation to psychology, secured attachment takes place, wherein if one is going away, the person reacts in a way that he doesn't to be left behind. TV shows captures the interests of the viewers. They present shows that jive with the taste of the viewers. Examples are, cartoons for kids, dramas for adolescents, etc. From the word "reality", it involves real life situations. Reality TV shows may be good for some, but not for the others. Say for instance, people mimic or they try to do what their TV show says. Reality TV shows should have regulations, wherein the viewers are to be informed first that the show maybe inappropriate for viewers. Just like here in Philippines, they classify if the show that they are about to watch is suitable for them or not. Other regulations involve violence, immorality and many more.
_
CONCLUSION:
In order to have good viewing, reality TV shows must have regulations. With it, we can be notified and guided what we are about to watch.

Should parents push their kids into extracurricular activities such as music or sports?by: Contegino Kyle H. There are many different attitude of a parent particularly in having a decision for their children. Do mothers' and fathers' attitudes towards their children's academic performance influence children's perceptions of their academic competence? Two types of parental attitudes, its either they will agree or disagree with their child’s wishes particularly into extracurricular activities such as music or sports. Will they be on your side, will they agree on those things that you want? Or they will just ignore you and decide by them self for what are they think that can lead you for the better. There are many factors on how parents guide their sons from their choices in life. One is fromfrom eNotes.com of Kevin0001 posted on Aug 5, 2014, let us see how do parent influence their children in life, this is to show some of details that I can use to support my opinion with my yes answer about the topic that was written above. As of Kevin0001 opinion Parents can influence children a lot because they have a very close relationship since the child's birth. A parent can influence their children in many ways. If a parent doesn't care about their children or set bad examples in front of their child, they will follow their parents and act just like them. This is because parents are their children's own role model. If a parent is very responsible and teaches their children, then the child will have a very good influence in their life. This can affect the result of the child's future. As of Kevin, parents are more likely to be a mirror about the growth of their child, it reflects the attitude that the parent contain towards their child. Kevin also stated at the first paragraph that parent are more likely to influence their children because they have a very close relationship since the child’s birth, means out of 100% that a child can choose what they want, max of it is with parent decision. So, should parent push their kids into extracurricular activities such as music or sport? Well yes. For it will cause the a parent child to be more active at school, besides it will also benefits the child a lot when it comes from their talents. When it comes to parent desire for their child they would rather choose what will benefit for the child’s. 80% to 90% of child’s decision about extracurricular activities particularly at school parent will agree, as mention above parent and child who tend to have good relationship supports one another’s idea. Child could find themselves as they grow up by simply having there extracurricular activities particularly at school. It would benefit the child or even the parent a lot in participating into such those extracurricular activities.

WHAT IS HUMAN TRAFFICKING? by: Cristine Balong

NEW...COMPLETE

“Slavery”, is a word that terrifies a person and brings out trauma for those people who had experience the same thing. Human trafficking is one of the biggest illicit businesses in the world raking in an estimated 32 million dollars per year. It is where a person is tricked, sold or forced into a situation of exploitation against his/her will and made as a slave which makes it very disagreeable. Human trafficking is not only confined to developing countries as even within the United States there are around 15,000 people trafficked each year.

Human trafficking does not happen all of a sudden, it is processed with its elements, which are the act, the means, and the purpose. The Act is what the traffickers do and includes actions like recruiting, transporting, or receiving victims. The Means is how the traffickers control the victims, such as through threats, deception, force or by providing money or other benefits. Finally, the Purpose of human trafficking is why the traffickers want the victims. The purpose is always exploitation so the traffickers can get money or other benefits. Exploitation can take many different forms including force labour, sexual exploitation, domestic and child exploitation, and removal of organs.

Each year, the U.N marks World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, which falls on July 30 this year, to help raise awareness. The U.S state department annually investigates more than 100 countries for its Trafficking in Persons. They created a ranking system of three tiers based off given country’s agreement and compliance with the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA). The TVPA was created to combat and educate people and governments about human trafficking wherein this act not only works within American borders but also across international as well.

Among the countries all over the world, the top countries that are classified and rated by Tier as the worst trafficking offenders are Russia, China, Iran, Belarus and Venezuela. Russia recently expanded bilateral agreements with North Korea to allow labour camps and “slave – like conditions for workers within Russian borders. About 20, 000 workers from North Korea are sent to Russia each year. Therefore, the country has been rated Tier 3 since 2013. China was downgraded to Tier 3 after three years on the Tier 2 watch list. Chinese officials responded by calling the assessment/system “irresponsible”. The demographic challenges created by the country’s one child policy have led Chinese men to find wives through sex trafficking.

The United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime (UNODC) estimated the human trafficking in numbers. The estimation showed that 51% of identified victims of trafficking are women, 28% are children and 21% are men. This also showed that 72% people exploited in the sex industry are women. The estimation showed that 63% of identified traffickers were men and 37% are women. It showed that 43% of victims are trafficked domestically within national borders.

One factor wherein people are easily trafficked is that because they are too desperate for a better life making it as an advantage to be easily tricked and exploited. It is easy to blame the traffickers, but how about the country they are living in, what if it was such in poverty and in corruption that the only way to get out from it is through making this illegal business which is human trafficking, same is through with the victims. Sometimes, it was in the country’s status and system that is needed to be blamed. Therefore, each one of us needs to be vigilant to avoid us from being tricked. We also need to cooperate with the government to prevent the increase of human trafficking. A strong government, education, and economic and social security seem to be the most effective way to combat human trafficking for both the victims and the perpetrators.

Reference List:

http://iomx.org/learn/mod/scorm/player.php?a=4&currentorg=adapt_scorm&scoid=8&sesskey=1zVN0ZtjWD&display=popup&mode=normal

https://www.usnews.com/news/best-countries/slideshows/5-of-the-worst-countries-for-human-trafficking

http://www.worldatlas.com/articles/worst-countries-for-human-trafficking-today.html

http://www.antislavery.org/slavery-today/human-trafficking/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIqb_T3-SU1gIVEoC9Ch1qlgmBEAAYAyAAEgJxFPD_BwE

Final Position paper Are overbearing sports parents helpful or harmful? by: Nomelyn Daguil

Most of the children and some teenagers love sports, but some of there parents would likely be so exaggerate for them to practice everyday, and they cant even do the things that they want to do.Overbearing sports parents are the one who is willing to do there best and take the risk so that their child would win the game. They become worried, yelling at the officials of the game or even screaming at the players and also the coach of his or her child. Parents should not force their children for their expectation because it can lead disappointments.

One of the main reason why over bearing parents become like that is because they over support their child. According to parenting today, don't be an over bearing sports parents. One of the most common areas where we see over-involvement today among parents is in the stands at sporting events. They want to stay close to their children so that they can see or know if they are concentrating to their sports. Connecting a child’s worth to his or her performance in athletics, over and over again, can result in all kinds of long-term issues for the child, such as anxiety or depression. If a parent connects a child’s worth to performance, it seems likely the child will also connect his or her self-worth to performance this is according to parenting today.

It is not easy for a child if someone is controlling his or her motion everyday, what most important is the parent is still supporting his or her child. Parents today should know their limitations because it can have a negative or positive sides.

Where should network draw the line for violence on television?By: Kent Cabrielle Alba

INTRODUCTION:
Television is considered to be one of the most important inventions of the twentieth century and even in the twenty first century, television is a powerful medium of mass communication. Violence can be found everywhere on television. But are we safe on watching Television like gangster, rape , murder? especially those kids who spend the most of time to watched TV and Since teenagers and kids are not even mature enough to distinguish between reality and fantasy. How can the parents prevent the kids seeing the violence on television? Why people in media showing more and more acts of staged and real-life violence?

Children watch an average of four hours or more of television daily. Television can be a powerful influence in developing value systems and shaping behavior. Unfortunately, now a days television programming is violent. Hundreds of studies of the effects of TV violence on children and teenagers have found that children may become "immune" or numb to the horror of violence and sometimes it begin to accept violence as a way to solve problems. Children who view shows in which violence is very realistic, frequently repeated or unpunished, are more likely to imitate what they see. Children with emotional, behavioral, learning or impulse control problems may be more easily influenced by TV violence. TV violence is not the only cause of aggressive or violent behavior, it is clearly a significant factor. Parents can protect children from excessive TV violence in the ways of paying attention to the programs their children are watching and watch some with them, set limits on the amount of time they spend with the television; consider removing the TV set from the child's bedroom, refuse to let the children see shows known to be violent, and change the channel or turn off the TV set when offensive material comes on, with an explanation of what is wrong with the program and disapprove of the violent episodes in front of the children, stressing the belief that such behavior is not the best way to handle a problem. Our parents can also use these measures to prevent harmful effects from television in other areas such as sexual stereotyping. The amount of time children watch TV, regardless of content, should be moderated because it decreases time spent on more beneficial activities such as reading, playing with friends, and developing hobbies. If parents have serious difficulties setting limits, or have ongoing concerns about their child's behavior, they should contact a mental health provider for consultation and assistance.

The bottom line on the TV violence is it's up to us as a viewer to decide where to draw the line, but for me as a student in every practices aimed at reducing violence, and the cable, video and film industries are showing signs of cooperating that should Congress encouraged and maintain hopes that change will come about voluntarily, without the need for federal regulation. In every time we turn on the TV you're met with a barrage of violent images including explosions, suicide bombings, and war casualties.

As a result, TV violence and children has become a hot topic. Studies show extensive viewing of television violence may cause children to become more aggressive and anxious. Children who watch many hours a week of violent TV may become inured to violence and begin to see the world as a scary and unsafe place.

http://www.webmd.com/parenting/features/tv-violence-cause-child-anxiety-aggressive-behavior#1
http://www.aacap.org/aacap/families_and_youth/facts_for_families/FFF-Guide/Children-And-TV-Violence-013.aspx

(NEW)

Should parents pay children for good grades? by:Antonio Ortin (new and final)

INTRODUCTION:
Many students now a days really try there best just to get a high grade at school. People who work gets paid, students also work at school. People learn from work and students also learn from school. Whats the difference ? so students should get paid from there good grades. This can make them exert more or do more great jobs at school for them get a high grades, many students easily gets tired of school cause they get nothing from it, so this things can help them to get to school.

paying kids for good grades can make them, strive more to do more at school. five reasons why parents should pay there children for good grades, first It incentives them to maintain high grades Motivation comes in many ways and from a variety of sources. My two older kids, who are entering 12th and ninth grades, respectively, love to make the honor roll, to ace a tough test or a particularly challenging class, and to excel in school in general.

But they also love to be financially rewarded for doing well.

According to a study on children and money conducted by the American Institute of CPAs, nearly half of all U.S. parents (48%) rewarded their kids financially for good grades. The average allowance for an A, among those who paid their kids, was $16.60.

second it can actually save our family money in the future

Even though we are paying our children an allowance tied to their grades earned today, my husband and I are keenly aware that this strategy may actually save us big bucks down the road. if they always on top the school might give them a scholarship and in the future there college will not problem it anymore. third and forth It reinforces our financial values and reiterates the importance of education to my children

In my church, my pastor is fond of saying: “Show me someone’s checkbook and I’ll show you that person’s heart.” The point is: you can tell a lot about what’s important to an individual based on how he or she spends their hard-earned dollars.

And if there’s one thing my kids know, it’s that in our household, we have choices for how we spend our money.

So by paying my kids when they get good grades, it reiterates the message we teach them about being conscious about financial decisions and spending money on things that really matter. It also sends a signal to my children that “Mommy and Daddy are serious about our education”—serious enough to put their money where their mouths are. fifth It makes my life less stressful

Finally, and I’m not ashamed to say this: paying my kids for good grades makes my life far less stressful. I guess you could say it helps keep their teachers from having to contact me about grade issues. I consider my kids’ teachers my educational partners, and I value their time, expertise and passion. I also appreciate that, at the middle school level, teachers will let me know in a heartbeat when something goes wrong.

As a parent, honestly, I like to be the one to initiate contact, to visit my kids’ classrooms, or inquire about how my children are doing. It’s less fun when teachers initiate contact. I don’t mean for the routine stuff; I mean for the problem stuff—like missing homework, forgotten assignments or grades that are slipping.

So, yeah, if paying my kids for good grades cuts down on the calls or emails home, then I’m all for that and for making my life a lot less stressful.

in order for your children to have a good grades, and to have a good future, sometimes we need to also pay them for doing great jobs at school. cause they also need it, and there's nothing wrong about it.

Read more at EBONY http://www.ebony.com/career-finance/5-reasons-to-pay-your-kids-for-good-grades-555#ixzz4siEoHJBi
Follow us: @EbonyMag on Twitter | EbonyMag on Facebook

EUTHANASIABy Charlie B. Chan. Euthanasia is another term for mercy killing. It is usually done by doctors to their patients who are terminally ill. Although euthanasia is done by doctors in certain situations to patients and is legal in some countries, euthanasia should not be practiced or be legalized because it devalues lives, it might become involuntary and doctors should cure and not kill. Whatever our view on life, religious or not, most people would agree that two scenarios we greatly fear are those of suffering a painful drawn-out death, or watching someone we love suffering such a death. This is, in part, what drives the current debate on euthanasia and the growing moves to decriminalize/legalize both physician-assisted suicide where the doctor prescribes the drugs and the patient takes them and active euthanasia where the doctor administers a lethal dose of drugs. In both situations the intent of the action is critical. In forms of euthanasia, the intent is to relieve suffering by killing. By contrast, when treatment is futile and is stopped or withheld, palliative care given by skilled professionals who address the pain provides the best means to respond compassionately to terminal illness and suffering. The intention here is to address the many needs of the suffering person and their family, and to enable a dignified pain-free death. Another ethical consideration is that health care professionals are trained and trusted to promote health and wellbeing and provide appropriate treatment for the living and dying - they are trusted not to cause death. Secondly, many different cultures and religions agree that life is a gift and see the individual in the context of wider relationships. Much of this current debate centres on a patient's right to choose when and how to die in the face of a terminal illness. But the right to choose does not take place in a vacuum – no-one is completely free, we are embedded in family and society involving critical relationships, including future generations. Our personal freedom is always held alongside the rights of others, and from a Christian perspective, our personal rights have to be considered alongside our responsibilities to others that reflect our love of God as indicated in the command to love both God and neighbor (Mark 12:28-32). Euthanasia show the violence act like killing patient this done by doctor in patient because life is fixed and there is no hope of survival in the worldso that they will no longer be afflicted with their illness

Should minimum wage be raised or lowered? by: Quemada, Krizza Mae D. FINAL POSITION PAPER INTRODUCTION: A hard work deserves a fair pay. Everyone is working hard for a better life. A better future not only for ourselves but also for our love ones. We do work hard but our salary is not even enough to buy our own needs. Workers are complaining about our wages, specially the poor people who only receives a minimum wage. How can poor family survive in everyday life if they don't get what they deserve for? How can a working students be able to pay his or her schooling if he or she only receives a low payment? A low minimum wage can't support a persons life. We all deserve to have a better life with a high salary. The minimum amount of money that must be paid to an employee by an employer in hourly basis, regardless of employee’s post or qualification, which often fixed by government authorities is known as minimum wages of that country. According to the Department of Labor and Employment, the official minimum wage is different from each region, to be specific, let us focus on CAR. According to the official page of Department of Labor and Employment, the minimum wage of CAR is 270-300 pesos per day as of August 26, 2017. I can say that the minimum wage is not enough to pay an increasing bills like electric bills, water bills, and so on. The cost of living is high enough for us to still provide what we need in order to survive in our daily lives. Raising a minimum wage can be a big help for each and everyone of us. A high minimum wage can lift people from the poverty line. It may not easy for the country to easily raise minimum wage but still it can help us all to live in a life with no so much worries about our bills and daily needs. A raise in our minimum wage can save a lot of people in our own country. http://www.nwpc.dole.gov.ph/pages/statistics/latest_wo.html

FINAL..At what age should parents talk to their children about sex? by: Noreen, Ponso More than half of the students this days in our country have had sexual intercourse already, which we may find very alarming. This things are much more likely to have multiple lifetime sexual partners that can put youths in a greater risk of getting a sexual transmitted disease or worse becoming pregnant in a very young age that can lead to a greater responsibilities for their lifes. Bill Albert ones say’s “A parents should not be afraid to talk to their children early and often about sex, love and relationship, and to be as specific as they comfortable being.” Parents don’t need to have all the information about sex a simple conversation to their child is enough to be able to fill their children’s insecurity’s. Discussing sex is also part of starting open communication with your child. For me a parent can already start having a sex talk to their children whenever they find them wondering about it. Curiosity about sex is a natural step from learning about the body. Experts say's that sex education helps kids understand about the body and helps them feel positive about their own bodies. Younger kids are interested in pregnancy and babies, rather than the mechanics of sex. Early, honest, and open communication between parents and kids is very important, especially when your child becomes an adolescent. If open communication is normal, kids are more likely to speak with parents about all the other trials of adolescence, such as depression, relationships, and the abuse of drugs and alcohol, as well as sexual issues.Beginning a conversation about sex early and continuing that conversation as the child grows is the best sex education strategy. It lets parents avoid giving one big, and likely uncomfortable talk when the child reaches adolescence. Parents should be a child’s first source of information about sex. When parents talk with their children about sex, they can make sure that they are getting the right information. These conversations are easiest when they come out of a life experience, like seeing a pregnant woman or a baby. Understanding correct information can protect children from risky behaviour as they grow up.http://www.aboutkidshealth.ca/En/HealthAZ/FamilyandPeerRelations/Sexuality/Pages/Sex-Education-for-Children-Why-Parents-Should-Talk-to-their-Kids-About-Sex.aspx

Is a child’s room really theirs, or is it their parents ?

By: Joy Canama

Did you know that children now a days they must prefer to stay in their own rooms than to stay at their parents rooms? Every one of us need space or what we called PRIVACY specially teenagers. Parents wanted their children to stay in their room just to check for their safety. But in reality teenagers in favor to have their own rooms than it is their parents rooms because they already independent.

According to Rai Anna-L, 16, St Margaret's Girls' College , the teenage years are a period when almost everyone goes through a process of self-discovery. We are desperately trying to be more independent. Therefore, we need the space to take this journey without it being invaded by others - some lessons in life are better learned through experiences and mistakes than taught by words .Constant supervision of our daily events will only suffocate our growth. Of course, the right to privacy doesn't mean we want no guidance in our lives. It simply means that the reins of control are in our hands, while adults act as advisers. Trust is a crucial foundation of all relationships. Infringing on a teen's privacy might be interpreted as a sign of mistrust. Not only does it put a strain on relationships, we could end up isolating ourselves even more from our parents, in a show of defiance. Snooping around won't do the trick, either. The only solution is to respect our privacy and establish a sense of trust through constant interaction. By doing so, adolescents will choose to share information that would otherwise be taken by force without our knowledge. So, are teenagers entitled to privacy rights? I do honestly believe giving us privacy rather than not is the lesser of the two evils. My answer is definitely yes.

I'm also in favor or agree that almost of us as a teenagers we prefer to have our own room by giving us some space, whether when it making an important decisions on our own way just to see our own identity.

Respecting a teen's privacy is an important move to make if you want your child to believe you trust in her or that she's capable of some forms of independence.

http://yp.scmp.com/over-to-you/columns/article/96010/face-should-teenagers-have-privacy-rights

Should media coverage be regulated ?Maria Trisha V. RubinCularts 12 A Media now a days is the most useful way for people to give informations , advertisement, news and learning for netizens and citizens. We use media to express our emotion through using our social media's, interviews or sometimes we speak our self through our freedom of speech. We do not know if media this day is reliable , there are different speculations, different judgement but one things for sure, that we should know how to limit ourselves when it comes to media. People are more dependent on media now a days, why? Because media is more accesibly than reading a certain book or media is also for entertaining people.. For me media coverage should be regulated because everything in there is not true, and sometimes we rely so much on media that we spend so much time on it.This also contains inappropriate features that does not suit for young audiences and it might be the reason for them to thinthat everything on media is true. We do not know if everything on media is reliable, can be trusted and sometimes can use an evidence. Government should control media for the sake of people that are involved and connected to it.Limit yourself and be responsible on using media because you will be the one who's going to face the consequences that might brought you.

How can human trafficking be stopped?By: Rea Mae A. Fagangan Human trafficking is one of the problem that our society is facing right now. It is a criminal activity in which people is being controlled or treated by someone. It can happen to anyone, everyone and everywhere, but woman and children are the one who most experience it. Because they are more poorer and less educated. Do we know how can we stop someone from doing it or how can we prevent it from happening? Human trafficking is a global problem, it is not only happen in the Philippines but mostly in the other country. According to Jen Lilley, human trafficking is the illegal trade of human beings. There are many kinds of human trafficking like illegal transportation of people for forced labour, sex exploitation and forced marriages. There are two usually causes of human trafficking, it is poverty and lack of economic opportunities. In which people is forced to engaged in illegal activities to have their money to support them especially their family. As early as possible we should stop human trafficking before it's too late. And we can stop this crime by uniting our efforts by the lead of our governments. They should be the one who make their first move to stop this problem before it become more aggressive. For example they can conduct a seminar regarding on this matter so that the people will be mindful and aware. And also for them to know the effects of it and how to prevent it because being involv in illegal or criminal activities can make you in danger. So our government should also make a way to prevent people from engaging with illegal activities. As a student or I can say as a woman that is mostly being target by the traffickers I am concern if ever it might happen to me or to my family or relatives. As soon as possible, we should make a way to stop it. And I believe in presh quotes that "Don't be cruel and cold, human shouldn't be sold".

Do children need/deserve an allowance?
By: Sheena P.Cadiay
Children now a days depend on their allowances in order to buy the things that they need as well as the things that they want. An allowance is an amount of money that our parents gave us, in which they expect that we spend it in a proper way and in proper things. Giving allowances to children is a good way to teach them money management.
According to Joline Godfrey in her article Raising Financially Fit Kids allowance would be a tool to help children learn what they should do with their money; count it, earn it, save it, share it, grow it, and spend it. An allowance will also teach children how to budget. When a child wants something or needs something this child will save a specific percentage of her/his allowance in order to buy the things that s/he wants in that manner the child learns how to save and budget money.
As children grows they become more aware of money. Together with their maturity is the increase of their financial needs. Providing allowance to your kids will also teach them how to become independent thus, some of the parents now days commands their children to do the household chores and in exchange they will have an additional allowance.
As said by Jessica Knudson on Financial Planning “Good money management skills are not something you are born with. Instead, they are acquired over your lifetime through many successes and some failures as well. Giving your children a weekly allowance is a great way to get them on the path to successful money management as an adult”. Teaching good money management with the use of allowance is one of the best way, but the parents should always be aware to the amount that they gave to their children in order not to spoil them.

Is printing advertising obsolete?

By: Angielica Cuizon
Cularts 12A
Print advertising is a form of printed advertisement like magazine, news papers, etc. Most of the people and advertising businesses nowadays is already migrating on the web advertising, they shift from print to digital. They believe that it is more flexible, not expensive, accountable and the demographics can find easily. But, despite of what they are saying, we can’t hide that print have advantages. Not all of us have time to open our PCs and gadgets to get information about what is happening around us or what’s new, and we all know that not all of us especially our grandparents know how to use a computer to access and find information. Is printing already fading or dead?

Printed advertising has been around since the dawn of marketing and promotions. Even during this time, print advertising still plays a crucial role in promotion, and is still utilized by many business organizations. Even though some would assert that print advertising has become obsolete, it still has a part in the modern era, according to blog.litfirepublishing.com. Many of us still used to read on a printed articles, like news papers, magazines and many more. According to Maria Theresa Estrada a business associate by profession, the digital form of ads and media are the ones that a person sees on the internet. Due to the relative ease that digital media brings, the physical aspect and value of such ads diminish as time goes by. But surprisingly the demand of printed media is still on the rise. Despite the advantages of digital media, magazines, newspapers, and other publications are still in use in everyday life. She also said that, the same goes for those who believe that printed books will soon vanish and e-books will soon reign. Truthfully speaking, printed books will never go obsolete as they are the basis of where all our knowledge is. It is also the most basic form of where we can put our ideas. Advertisement on a printed form, others can see as an old fashioned way of reading articles, news, advertisement etc. But whatever they think, print advertisement is still the original way of updating what's new. Digital advertisement can be more harmful than the printed one because of the radiation from the gadgets that we have. Why will the print advertising be obsolete? when it will not cause any harm to us.

Everybody knows that digital era is already in our age, but take a look at it many people still buy newspapers, magazines, books and many more. Because it is less hustle, because you'll just going to flip pages of it and then you'll already get information. Than to open your PCs and search for information about something. Print advertising will never ever be obsolete because we can bring it, we can read everywhere we go but not the digital one, if there is no internet connection, data connection etc. connections, digital advertising will be useless.

What Is True Beauty?

By:Marc Client Almeda
As defined by Wikipedia, beauty is a characteristic of an animal, idea, object, person or place that provides a perceptual experience of pleasure or satisfaction. Beauty is studied as part of aesthetics, culture, social psychology, philosophy and sociology. Beauty has a definition that is elusive, each and every one of us has their own view on what beauty is. But what is true beauty?

If you ask most people what they find beautiful about a person, many of them will probably begin to describe someone’s physical characteristics. It usually goes something like this: “I like big eyes, long hair, muscles, and a nice butt.” Rarely do you hear someone reply, “What makes someone beautiful to me is their generosity, courage, kindness, and sense of humor.” I believe that true beauty is what's inside a person. You can be beautiful even without having a good physical appearance but by having a good personality, helping others, being kind to every one, and being Christ cantered. By this way, people can still say that you are so beautiful because true beauty cannot be seen by the naked eye but felt by a sincere heart.

I know the saying goes, “Beauty fades.” But I think that’s a horrible statement. I prefer “Beauty changes.” Once beautiful, always beautiful. And once you have inner beauty, that is one thing that will never change. Instead of worrying about the wrinkles on your face or the cellulite on our thighs, think about how you can be kinder and gentler. Think about how you can leave your mark on this world in a positive way. As of now I’m going to keep telling myself that looks don’t matter it’s what is on the inside that matters. True beauty is on the inside and I hope that most people will be able to see that.Because that’s what REALLY matters.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beauty
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dr-carol-morgan/outer-beauty-vs-inner-bea_b_9585726.html
