Still, make sure you don't overuse it. Remember, there is also the present continuous and the present perfect, too! In German you use "Präsenz" for all of these tenses, but in English there are three different present tenses.

Don't forget the third person -s: "He likes..."

And, like with questions, don't forget "do/does" in some of the questions.

Make sure you review stative/state verbs, as these cannot be used with the present continuous.

Some verbs have different meanings, one of which can be active, the other stative:
look = ausschauen (stative)
  • CORRECT: You look tired. 
  • INCORRECT: You are looking tired.
look = anschauen (active)
  • CORRECT: I am looking at the map. (right now)
