Clinician biases are the problems clinicians face when dealing with their patients. There are three ways a clinician can be biased. (That means wrong) 1. Their attitudes and beliefs toward a specific group of people or person.2. Confirmation bias. When a clinician tries to find certain symptoms to confirm their previous beliefs. 3. Illusory correlation. When a clinician finds a relationship even though there isn't one.

Clinician attitudes and beliefs about a certain group of people or about certain disorders can cloud their judgement to make an accurate diagnosis. Often, Clinicians may have a diagnostic preconception in which they have the tendency to look for information to confirm their previously held beliefs- confirmation bias. Lastly, there may be ethical considerations in that they tend to look for a relationship between things when there is not-- illusory correlation.

Found that clinicians reported that those who saw genitalia or promiscuous things indicating sexual content as the patient being homosexual. However, clinicians failed to recognize that card #4 and card #5 were considered valid signs of homosexuality if a monster was seen in card 4 and a humanoid was seen in card 5. It is therefore seen that clinicians were culturally biased to correlate homosexuality with verbal descriptions when research showed no verbal descriptions.

Chapman and Chapman (1969) supports clinician bias. In this study, 32 psychoanalysts were asked to recall their experiences and names of Rorschach ink plots when diagnosing homosexuality. They found that the clinicians often reported invalid diagnostics and failed to report the vaid diagnostics. This supports clinician bias by supporting illusory correlation, a type of clinician bias, because the clinicians falsely correlated certain diagnostics and answers to the ink plots with homosexuality.
