I think Augustus could be guilty of crime because what he knows already can prove that he might have been on the senate floor the same time as Julius was. This doesn't mean that Augustus is entirely guilty, evidence shows from the document that the senate was jealous of the power Julius had; but Augustus could also be jealous of the power.

I think that Augustus could be guilty of this crime because of the way that he is so involved with the death of Julius Caesar. Since Augustus had the chance to get hold of all the power maybe he wanted this to happen. Also, the way that he was making his testimony sound like he was very sorry for the death by blaming it directly on the Senate because they have a chance of being the reason.

He could be guilty of the crime. This is because he could've wanted to inherit his power. Another reason is that he kept stressing that the senate killed him.

Augustus could be guilty because he didn't hesitate at all to blame the senate, well maybe Augustus set someone up to kill Julius, and was just trying to cover up by blaming the senate.

I think Augustus could've been guilty of the crime since he had this weird motive. He says, "which is why was forced to seize power" and "with the authority that only a true emperor could provide" It shows how he seems power hungry, and is using that to cover up Julius's death. Augustus had everything to gain from his death.. power, influence, authority. Augustus didn't really mourn his death, but blamed the Senate.

I think that Augustus is guilty as he said that he would rule as an emporor, which Romans did not have. He just popped it into their minds after Julius was murdered. He clearly wanted the power to himself.

I do not think Augustus could be guilty of the crime. This is because the reasons he was being aggressive were pretty legit. Also, Rome did have to suffer through a war which was a big deal. Therefore, Augustus could not have committed the crime.

I think that Augustus might have been a part of the crime. He might have told the Senators to kill Ceaser so he can be Emperor all by himself. Either that or he could just be taking advantage of the whole situation and making himself seem like he will be a good emperor. Basically, we need more evidence...

I think that Augustus is not guilty of the crime. He is not because he said good things about Julius Ceaser, and maybe the Senates were jealous.

I think Augustus could be guilty, but not really. We know right now that it was the senate, sure, Augustus could have payed the senate to do the killing, but still. His speech was very patriotic, and although it seemed a little bit like a " Forget everyone, now i'm here" type of speech, it is still very patriotic, And Augustus was known for being a great ruler and ways trying to finish his fathers projects. So I personally think he didn't do it. All of the senators that killed Caesar didn't die of a natural death, so if he was guilty, he would have died or have been tracked down. SO i don't think Augustus's personality was like this.

Augustus could be guilty for the crime because he might have wanted to gain power. He took over Rome when the Senate was very weak, the Senate was weak because of Julius's death. Killing Julius empowered Augustus to rule Rome. This is just a theory; Augustus is just a suspect; we need more evidence to know who the culprit is.

I think tat Augustus could be guilty of the crime because, his words in his testimony seem skeptical. His words mainly focused on blaming the Senate without any proof. Another reason why I think Augustus could be guilty of murdering Julius Caesar, is because, he keeps emphasizing that he will lead Rome by becoming emperor.

I think that Augustus could be guilty because he was the one who said that there will always be a Caesar to lead. He might have just wanted to be Emperor and have all the power which is why he could have teamed up with the Senate and murdered his own uncle, Julius Caesar.

I think that Augustus could be guilty of the crime because first of all, Julius Caesar wasn't blood related. Augustus was adopted so, he didn't have the same affection for his "fake" uncle then if it was his real uncle. Also, in his speech he was angry and not a bit on sadness came from his words.

Augustus definitely could have been responsible for the murder of Julius Caesar. He could have been hungry for power and wanted to kill his uncle. His speech also had an agressive side to it(hungry for power), and he seemed to be trying too hard to blame the Senate and deflect all suspicion from him.

He could be saying to show the people of Rome of his innocence. So all the citizens of Rome will turn towards the Senate as suspects and leave Augustus as an innocent person

Yes, I think that Augustus could be guilty of the crime, because the testimony that he said was a little fishy. He could have wanted to have more power so he could have hired someone to kill Julius Caesar, and he was so quick to blame the Senate, that it seemed as if he killed Julius Caesar.
