When we normally encounter a crime fiction story they usually follow a certain pattern - where we first hear about a murder, then an investigation and finally the outcome which typically ends with the criminals arrest. The story “Guy walks into a bar” follows a different kind of approach in which the whole first page is just an explanation off the main character Jack Reacher and his surrounding. He is located in New York, he wanted to hear music so he went into a bar. On the second page, section two the crime fiction elements start to appear, his sharp intuition and detection skills. He starts to analyse the room and 4 individuals stand out. A rich girl with her bodyguard and two skinheads looking at her. His thought was that the two skinheads where going to abduct her. The girl later went into the bathroom and the skinheads followed. Jack Reacher went into the bathroom to save her and when they saw him, the two guys walked away. They all sat back in their seats. When the band stopped playing the the two guys went into the corridor yet again. Jack went over to the bodyguard and pointed at the direction, he took no notice and didn’t move. Then the guitarist startet walking off stage and the bodyguard rose up perfectly synchronized. He knew that his assessment was wrong and that the two guys was going after the guitarist and not the girl but also that the girl was with them. He went outside and beat them up. 

As I talked about in the start there a three stages in a normal crime fiction story, but in this i would say there is only two - the Investigation and the outcome.
