It was also a big conflict when they were hunting. There were many characteristics of this jungle that made it very hard to pass through and hide in. The jungle had this very big pit of quicksand on one side of the island and if it got a good grip on you, there was no getting out. The jungle was very wet and muddy. It had great amounts of trees and bushes and branches that were big obstacles to get through. When they were hunting they were mostly in the jungle hiding during the day and walking at night. The jungle is used in this story as a big obstacle for resources. While rainsford was on the ship and when he fell into the sea the event took place at night. After Rainsford was able to climb out of the sea he fell in a deep sleep. After he had woken up he started exploring the Island to find some shelter luckily he found a castle in sight. After all the events that happened in the castle with general Zaroff Rainsford then had to hunt in the darkness. They had to hunt during the morning and rest during the night.
