Egg cells and sperm cells are significantly different cells that also come from different origins. These two cells are needed for conception. When the sperm and egg cells meet with each other, they eventually fuse in a time period, then each of their chromosomes pair up with each other. A fertilized egg or a zygote will be created and commence to divide.
