Improve the house system to encourage students to make friends and relationships with other students and a teacher mentor/tutor. Possible link to buddy in the same house from year 10.

Continue utilising a buddy system

Year long pumpkin growing system. Represents the journey. and gives students a goal to work towards.

Ideas and suggestions: Amazing Race - so the kids get to know the school layout and where their classes are. There should be an app for this as well.

Definitely buddy system - but update this so the kids get a buddy that have got some vague idea of similar interests eg musicians together, footy players together. Maybe the buddies could be teams together in some sort of activity eg dodge ball. Develop a buddy matching app.

Mini LinkedIn, or Facebook system to make some of the connections.

-Getting the parents involved in the year 7 introductory activities. Including 'Getting to know you activities'/ Icebreakers The students are making friends as well as the parents getting to know each other as a community. -Feeder / Sister schools that assist the move into Highschool because the students already have a learning cohort that will move up together. -Involving students from the Primary School in the Secondary School Programs (years 5&6) to ease the transition, familiarity of the school.
