Activism means to express dissatisfaction with the organization and operation of the existing society, to have a negative attitude towards the existing social system, to urgently hope for radical, drastic and immediate changes to the society, and to advocate social progress. There are also differences in the degree of radicalism and left and right. Activism that tends toward a more just or scientific approach to social change tends to be left-wing activism. Those that tend to return society to the past, or even to the old value system, belong to right-wing activism. Marxism and its successors fall into the former category. He believes that the only measure of history is whether productivity was rising or falling.
In my opinion, the characteristics of activism are the pursuit of perfect ideal complex, the rebellious attitude to reality, the revolutionary impulse to overturn the old order, and the modern trend of activism.
Art activism is a new artistic phenomenon. Through art, art activism not only criticizes the art system and ordinary political life, but also criticizes the social status under the control of this system.
Art activism not only changes the interior of the art system through artistic means, but most importantly lies in the exterior of the art system, namely reality itself. To change the status quo of society through the means of art.

Banksy(1974)
Banksy donated his painting to a hospital in the UK during the first wave of COVID-19 in the summer and donated the money to the hospital for the health service. This summer he donated the proceeds from an auction of a Mediterranean Sea view 2017 (2017) to a hospital in Bethlehem for health care. Later in the summer, Banksy 's attention returned to the migrant crisis in the Mediterranean and financed the refugee rescue boat. By auctioning off his works, he donated money to hospitals for aid, as well as to help Mediterranean migrants in need.
Patrisse Cullors
The artist and activist Patrisse Cullors stated that “My art practice is an extension of my political values.” Patrisse Cullors is very concerned about racism, she is one of the most famous founders of the Black Lives Matter Movement, and she founded the Crenshaw Dairy Mart Art space in Los Angeles with artists Alexandre Dorriz and noé olivas. The art space is an extension of Cullors's focus on racial justice, as well as his anti-gentrification and prison abolition campaigns during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the finally, Patrisse Cullors remains committed to reimagining the art space as a place of care and community. It was not only influential, it was revolutionary.
Max Ernst - Europe After the Rain from 1940-42
Max Ernst had experienced the influence of Nazi politics in Germany and painted the Surrealist Landscape of Europe after the Rain, which depicts a dystopian Europe devastated after World War II. He used to be dominated by emotional loneliness, physical exhaustion and deep fear. What Jerry expresses through this painting is not only a genuine reflection on the horrors of war, but also a typical concern for humanity.
I have seen from these cases that every artist is expressing their dissatisfaction with the war or the unfair social status quo through their own art, and they are also trying to change and influence all these things with their art works. In Banksy's case, he also made a great contribution to society by helping the hospital through his artistic power. I also learned from the great power of art, through art to influence people, help people, with art to create a better world.

Artsy.2021.The Most Influential Artists of 2020.

This is a painting created by Banksy during the outbreak. Banksy named it 《Game Changer》. This is a work of art in the style of painting. The picture is made up of black and white. In the painting, we can see a little boy holding a doll in the image of a medical worker, wearing a mask and a nurse's uniform with a Red Cross. The bucket next to it contains the superheroes spiderman and Batman. We can see clearly that in the painting, Banksy compares medical staff to superheroes who are always protecting us. In fact, the significance of this painting is that during the very severe outbreak, the medical workers are working together to fight the epidemic and save our lives. They are more superheroes than Batman or SpiderMan. The painting also pays tribute to all health care workers during the COVID-19 outbreak. We would like to thank all health care workers for everything they have done for us during the outbreak.

This is a piece of art that Patrisse Cullors performed at the Broad art Museum called《Prayer to Iyami for Allegories of flight》. In the picture we can see a woman with a pair of huge wings on her back. She was standing in the middle of a bird's nest surrounded by a structure that looked like a bird's nest. The surrounding light also makes the image colorful. In fact, it's a winged tapestry made out of her brother's clothes and weighs 20 pounds. The Bird's Nest building was also elaborately decorated with more of his brother's clothes. This performance art work strongly addresses the social and political issues of racial inequality and police brutality (an inadequate penal system). Cullors desire to embed her work in highly aesthetic forms also expresses her desire for social change

The painting we see here is a painting style created by the famous French painter Max Ernst—《Europe After the Rain》. It is also a representative work of German surrealism. The painting shows a blue sky and white clouds, but below it is a landscape of ruins. The man in the ruins with the head of a bird, the head of a bird and this is probably a characteristic style of his painting. The message of this painting is the cruelty of war and the typical concern for human nature. Ernst also seems to express his inner thoughts of resistance to the war through the art form of painting.

Balkin’s article about Public Art in Philadephia (1992) states that “Public art is not an art form. It can be very large, it can be very small. It can be 50 feet tall, or it can make you pay attention to the road under your feet. ts shape can be abstract or realistic (or both), it can be cast, carved, built, assembled, or painted it can be site-specific, or it can be in contrast to the surrounding environment. What distinguishes public art is the unique association of how it is made, where it is, and what does it mean. Can public art express community values, improve our environment, change the landscape, raise our awareness, or question our assumptions. In public Spaces, this art exists for everyone, as a form of collective community expression. Public art reflects how we see the world. The artist's reaction to our time and place is combined with our own feelings”

At present, the most concerned and ongoing activities of British university students are black student action, cultural matters, the closure of further education, and the closure of Rochester.

About the Black Student Movement, which is a movement to fight racism and change the lives of black students. In this event, they use interactive art, through the UCASU team to collect and share with each other the feedback of black students' daily experiences and life experiences, which will give black students the most funding and help to improve their lives.
At the same time, each campus has a BAME community that has organized open mic nights. There is also the ACS Committee on the Farnham campus, which brings students together as a family, allowing them to do fun activities, socialize, and talk. These jobs are immersive, supportive and fun for students.

In terms of culture, uca for everyone to create a culture of respect and agree. Uca design the works of art such as stickers and pins, it is a kind of installation art, everyone can stick stickers and pin in the obvious place and hang on the clothes, and show support for our culture that does not tolerate harassment and disrespect of all kinds.

Further education and The Rochester campus were closed. The school is closing the UK student further education curriculum, the school is closing the Rochester campus, the duplication of facilities will be kept to a minimum. But because of the lack of communication, updates and interaction, the students have not responded. When news of the closure gets out, the student union draws up a specific list of priorities matter and demands for the university to comment on. Because it is public, the comments received from the university are vague and biased. Students are not being communicated in a timely manner, updated in a timely manner, and things are not presented more transparently to students. When the incident was made public, students were strongly opposed to the incident, arguing that the school should provide high-quality education and restore the Rochester campus. The students also used the media to seek an apology from the university for the incident. President Kent responded that he would continue to organize the meeting and open the minutes of the meeting to increase transparency.

From these activities, we found that a good interaction and communication is very conducive to the development of the project. A good interactive way to collect feedback and share it, or design a product promotion, simple stickers and pins can bring people together to support and solve current social and political problems. This has also exerted a great influence on my design philosophy. Later, I may design artworks from the perspective of installation or interaction, so as to better motivate people.

The social or political issues that interest me most from recent case studies are feminism and Sexism. Because feminism has been a very big social and political issue since the early 19th century, For example, I recently read the news that in this year's Tokyo Olympic Games, the Korean archery player won two gold MEDALS in the competition, but after the game, she was accused of feminism on the Internet because of her short hair. Can't a girl have her hair cut? This social phenomenon of discrimination is a topic I want to study and solve.

I think the issue of gender discrimination, is more interested in another topic, I think he also exists in the campus of the more important a hot-button issue, I saw them in the activities of the student union is also use this sticker and pin art, the device to organize students to resist this kind of phenomenon, to stop the negative evaluation for gender discrimination phenomenon, So I also want to study this campus issue.

As I have studied other social problems before, I finally found that sexism, homosexuality and other issues are things that often happen around us, which we have experienced or often come into contact with. Therefore, I may be more sensitive to these things, and this gives me the impulse to solve these problems. The interaction and installation art activities in the campus student club also gave me a lot of inspirations to more effectively influence and attract others in the design of artworks

I scanned the entire landscape of The Farnham campus, and I also looked at the best places in Farnham where I could display, promote and interact with my art work. One of the places I'm interested in is the square in the center of the main campus.
First of all, it has a wide space and lots of people coming and going, which is suitable for us to have interaction or interview. Secondly, it is also the main place access to the main buildings and accommodation. Our art works need to be appreciated by more people to get better feedback, so I think this location is a good one.
The second is John Luard Building and Film Media Centre. I think this position is related to my major, and it is also the place I often attend and use. Besides, this road is also a suitable location for exhibition. The social issues I study are feminism and by extension sexism for women. Farnham itself is a beautiful city with craft and creativity. The students who pass through these places are also art students. As an art woman, she can better appreciate my work, understand the social issues I express and give feedback. I hope to create some large exhibition boards or advertising signs in this place to better attract the audience's attention and guide their art direction, so that we can better convey my works
