We used Stinky Fish in a padlet to explore engagement (cameras on versus off was the jumping off point) with recipients in a training. The goal was to experience the activity, and then to think about how recipients might be able to use that activity in their own programs. We got some great feedback and starting place towards a better mutual understanding of what engagement looks like in that virtual space, and heard from some recipients that they planned to use it in their own programs.

I used the entire toolkit with a leadership team and they are going to be discussing how to use with staff, maybe even planning for next year as a tool to work through the entire year.

I have used the toolkit with several management teams through introducing the concepts and using the welcome and psychological safety resources. We have worked to identify how the welcome resources can be added to orientation and onboarding systems

Participants have appreciated the activities that can be used with staff. Especially of interest are the super hero, in this house, and handle with care activities. A program has also identified the connection questions to be implemented into team meetings with direct staff to further build team connections.

Support for orientation and onboarding

I have worked with Programs to identify how it can be used to help form connections during orientation and onboarding but something like an 15 minute in-service suite discussing the importance of belonging and how it connects to a culture of wellness/safety would be useful so that it can be shown to new hires to provide early messages of the importance of staff wellness.

I have used this platform for collaboration and brainstorming, some project planning and virtual events.

Entire Training

I recently trained on using the entire training. This is so needed. I conducted the training with two different groups. Center managers and coaches together and with coaches and supervisor. Both successful sessions but I really feel like Center Managers benefit the most.

I used the Toolkit as part of my Learning Leaders Support Group. The activities were fun and engaging while also leading to deep reflections about program culture and staff belonging. I want so much more of the same for all 5Rs!!!

The participants enjoyed the activities and appreciated that these materials could also be used with staff.
