Overall the content of the workshop is absolutely amazing. But I think the structure of the workshop order should be adjusted. For example, the third speech should be done earlier because people may fall asleep and the first one should be done last as it is engaging people.

I attended online for session 2 & 3 - both were valuable and of interest as I build an online platform to make it easier for individuals to engage in all the RE words. www.REcheck.au is focused on making it easy for people to keep things in use for longer. A quick search on an item – anything from a mobile phone to a disco ball - will provide LOCAL options on how it can be REused, REpaired, REnted (shared or borrowed), REpurposed or REcycled. Hence the name REcheck. It's in its early stages (still testing) but happy to hear any feedback.

Something that came up in the repair panel - that I would like think about taking further - is the ways in which the infrastructure of the university might be 're-purposed' - it seems that in many respects this already happening with the Swap events at WSU - for me it also connects to Robin Zheng’s (2018) work on highlighting the responsibilities of individuals in different societal roles to address structural injustice through pushing the boundaries of their role. As Zheng argues, social roles are where “structure meets agency” (2018, 870). I am left wondering how can we push the boundaries of both the infrastructure of the university and the roles of its employees / students communities to address issues such as climate justice ? https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10677-018-9892-8

I loved how Nina Gbor talked about how importing cheap textiles to African counties is damaging local textile industry. We must raise more awareness of this, local industry has the power to be both sustainable and self sustaining!
