I love how nicely they fit together. It's sometimes hard for me to teach the ILOs about how everyone is a scientist or how to get them to ready science texts on their own. Any ideas? I love how a lot of times the ILOs are already imbedded into the curriculum standard- like carry out an experiment or write a research paper. I definitely struggle with the physics unit because it is at the end of the year, right up against CRT tests and I just have to teach the big ideas and we take care of details after the test. I think I might try Tasha's idea to do an independent research project on our physic concepts so they are better prepared for the CRTs and I can incorporate in class and outside of class learning.

I am most familiar with the weathering and erosion objective because that concept is also part of the fourth grade core that I am familiar with. I am not confident at all in teaching the 5th grade core because I have little experience with the 5th grade science core. The ILO's are easily incorporated with any lesson if teachers integrate them with content. Most of the time, the ILO's are taught as a result of quality teaching.

I love teaching the science curriculum and do a pretty good job of covering the core. I know I need to do a better job of integrating more writing in science. I currently use a journal, but I need to incorporate more writing!

Gerry - Trying to fit core requirements for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science curriculum in the same year, the same class, is challenging. This exercise shows me I need to improve lessons on weather and using technology to observe objects in the solar system - a lot.

I feel most confident with standard 5. I need to become stronger with standard s 4 and 5. Amazingly, I still have so much to learn even after 2 years! : )

Love teaching astronomy and micro organisms. My lesson progression could use some reordering to follow the five E's. embedding evaluations and Ela's in this process seems more efficient than what I'm doing. Looking forward to working on this.

Hello, hello! Thank goodness that have not missed teaching that sixth grade standard 2 objective 3. Our science team has been using and improving how our students use science journals. These science journals have made incorporating writing naturally part of science

I am the most confident when teach electricity.

I feel that it is my strongest area, because of my background as an electricians daughter.

One thing that I was unaware that I needed to teach was, constructing a compass. I had no idea that I needed to do that. Yikes!

I use a science journal as a way to incorporate the ILO's.

I think it's meaningful to teach students to use science inquiry vocabulary/language to integrate science and
