         <title>Building relationships of trust between teacher and student as well as fostering positive experiences for student interaction is important in establishing a safe learning environment. Teacher models positive interactions and encourages students to do the same. Through trust and establishing a family environment students will be more willing to make an effort to learn.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>It is amazing to realize that our students may not know/understand the appropriate reaction or response. They have definitely been exposed, but have they been taught it? I often see our staff pull a student aside and tell them what they did was disrespectful and then pose the question, “Do you realize what you said or did was disrespectful?”&nbsp; I do wonder at times is it as simple as a case of them not knowing.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>I try to promote a family (loving but strict) in my classroom.  I tell my kids I love them and even though at times I am happy to see them move the ladder to the next grade they still have a piece of my heart and they ALL know they have a safe place to come to. During class time they are safe and feel good to be at school.  </title>

         <title>#2 - What role do you have in managing students&#39; states?   On the whole I keep a positive attitude and show enthusiasm in order to manage &quot;students&#39; states&quot;.  I do sometimes get discouraged when I look at students&#39; outward faces that may not show emotion.   But then I realize this doesn&#39;t mean they are not connecting because I remember when I was a student in high school -- I was a good listener &amp; understood what was happening, but I was too self-conscious and uncomfortable to show emotion in class. B/c of that memory I can keep and renew my positive attitude.</title>
