Year 9 had a netball fixture against Ecclesbourne school. Netball is very popular at Swanwick and it was great to have enough students for two teams. Some students were very experienced Netball players while for a few of the students it was their first experience of a fixture. They all played extremely well together, against a very strong Ecclesbourne team, and were disappointed to lose both matches. They all remained positive and showed great resilience and determination. 
 
Players of the match, as voted by the students, were Nancy Webster and Sophie Bower
 
A big thank you to Miss Shanahan for umpiring and to Izzy Valdi, Lauren Greenhough and Georgina O'Shea for umpiring, coaching and helping out.

Y8 Football tournament.
Played 3 - won 1, drew 1 and lost 1. The students played really well in difficult conditions in their 1st fixtures representing Swanwick Hall school.

Last Thursday Year 8 had a netball tournament at Ecclesbourne school. We again had enough students for two teams. Both teams played extremely well with a fantastic team spirit and a determination to play their best. The A team finish 3rd in the tournament and the B team finish 5th.

U16 Girls football team played in the first round of the County Cup. They all played really well and worked together as a team brilliantly, with lots of well-deserved goals being scored.  The final score was 7-4 to Swanwick Hall,  and we now progress to the next round of the cup

Year 7 Amber Valley Netball Tournament at Swanwick hall School. The newly formed Year 7 team played extremely well with a fantastic team spirit and positive attitude. They worked really well together as team, improving with each game they played. They finished 3rd overall in the Tournament, losing to 2-3 to Ecclesbourne, 0-4 against Ripley but winning 4-0 against Aldercar.

On Saturday we had 11 students representing The Amber Valley Schools in the County Cross Country at Mount St Mary’s School, Sheffield. All students acquitted themselves well

All students were outstanding throughout, epitomising our school values. 
There many outstanding individual performances with many students winning all of their events. A special mention to the Y7 girls team that won the overall highest points. 
We cant wait until the event next year.
