Good teachers that I have had.
Teacher Laura Mejorado, Human Resources class in High School (Sophomore, Junior and Senior year, 2012-2015).
- According to Harmer J. in his book “How to teach English”, good teachers are flexible and empathize with the people they are talking to. Teacher Laura has this amazing skills that got us very interested in class (even if it was a hard day). She is able to comprehend each one of her students; she has a great manner of giving instructions and she made her subject easy for us to understand. I’m pretty sure she loves teaching better than business.
-Teacher Maria Vale, Theatre course in UABC (Middle School through High School, 2009-2015)
According to Harmer J. in his book “How to teach English”, Teachers find it much easier if their students believe that their genuinely interested in them and available for them. Teacher Maria blew me away since the first time that I saw her on stage. After I saw her part in a play (which I cannot remember the name of it) I decided to get into the theatre course but I didn’t know that she was going to be my teacher. In my class, we were the same student’s semester by semester, we grew together with her knowledge and support until we got in college, she is always being tough and a hardworking teacher who cares about sharing everything she knows about theatre and life.
Therefore, both teachers were very similar to me in the fact that they were able to clearly communicate without leaving doubts to us. I learned to adapt to changes and take advantage of everything that I can, with both of her teaching planning and creativity, not only for school but for life. I knew that they cared about my development as a human and not only as student from their subject, and my classmate’s apprenticeship as well. At some point during your studies I assume that you had better grades in some subjects than others, why do you think this happens?

According to Harmer J. in his book “How to teach English, 1998” p:10 good learners share a willingness to think about how to learn, listen, experiment and accept correction.
Which means that yes, I am a good learner. Because I have always learned fast. I am always questioning about everything that I can and write or draw about it to share and express my ideas. I am curious about life and I feel like the more I know the more I want to learn and share, it is never enough. One thing that impulses me to learn is the fact that I cannot handle the “I do not know” answers, I hate simple answers and not knowing about useful information.
I may lack of motivation of doing things that I do not enjoy doing; If it is something that makes me unhappy I need to make it joyful for me first, if a task is not fun or I’m not mentally prepared I would leave it to when I’m ready. I am still working on that.
In fact, I used to have excellent grades until I got in college. However, I feel like I learn in every class that I have, I always end up the day thinking about it and questioning myself about something that was said in school. Even if it is not always reflected on my grades, I am pretty sure that I am able to survive a week without taking notes but in the other hand I like to accept corrections because I know that I cannot waste so much human brain potential in the conformism of being “just good” when I can afford more than I can imagine.

I feel so angry with my country for not given me an education like that, I admire the way that they care about people’s happiness by equal and the way that they are able to dedicate their whole life to arts and not worry about their economic status because they know that they can be everything they want and they are prepared since childhood, everything looks amazing.
I would like to say yes, because it is possible but at the same time I feel like Mexico’s too far from a school system like that, it would take years for us to make it happen, I feel like is not difficult at all, the hard job would be to deal with community and government to accept that we need change, we are in pause and I feel like total investment in education may be a solution for many problems in our country.
Of course yes! Even before this video I have always thought that homework limits my own research as a learner. Homework is the only thing I regret dedicating time in my life, because it is valuable time that I want for my family and life, and people won’t last forever; if there is no homework I would study by myself as a consequent of my own doubts or curiosity, doing homework just makes me lose my love for school. February 7.

Reference: Moore, M.

The first time that we were told to make several lesson plans it was fun, but as the time passed by it bacame a little bit tedious for me to make them with a long term previous preparation but at the same time it was easier for me to have better results and I took an opportunity to recreate ideas that I wanted to apply in the class, I noticed that in the practice I worried less about the planning and I even found joy in it, which was great because it has been a rough semester, in general we all had highs and lows and I could feel it in our classroom, a little lack of motivation at the end but we are all in this together with difierent purposes to share as human beings. I felt plenty comfortable working the subject in google classroom and I found myself loving padlet as a useful tool, it does not feel like doing homework at all. Even though we had the theory and practice I am convinced that I still got to learn more, I met a part of me that I did not knew before which taught me that people are full of surprises maybe that's part of the "unexpected" journey, that word really defines my daily life, we never know. I would like to explore more ways to create awesome lesson plans to keep the journey as fun as I can; I am very thankful for this course because I learned everything that I could to be prepared for anything that I can even though if it is not about teaching I appreciate everything. I would award with an 8 my development during this semester because I know that I could do some assignments way better than I did and I apologize about not giving my all to the course, anyways I end up tha course with joy and gratitude.
