A Day in an Amazing Parade

Last weekend, I went to a big cultural parade in my town. The streets were packed with people, all excited to see the performances.

First, I saw colorful floats passing by, each showing different parts of Indonesia. The music was loud, and everyone was having fun.

Then, the best part of the parade came — the Reog Ponorogo. The performer wore a huge mask with a lion face and peacock feathers. It was amazing to watch him dance while holding the heavy mask. The crowd cheered and clapped as he moved.

After that, more dancers in traditional costumes followed, dancing to the beat of the music. The sound of the drums and gongs made the atmosphere even more lively.

Finally, the parade ended with fireworks lighting up the sky. It was a fun day, and the Reog Ponorogo was definitely my favorite part of the parade.

Last week, we went to a wonderful traditional parade. It was in the middle of the city. The five of us walked there since it wasn't a far distance from school. Being there was such an exciting experience. We saw so many things that looked almost magical, let us tell you all about the things we saw.

3 weeks ago, my friends and I went to a big fun parade around salatiga to celebrate the independence day of Indonesia on the 17 of August. So let's tell you guys how it went!

At the start of the parade, we watched people with different types of costumes walk by. They were dressed as Indonesian hero's such as Bung Tomo, RA. Kartini, & Cut Nyak Dien. Some of them were wearing recycled costumes from paper, cardboard and plastic.

After we watched the people with costumes walk by, we watched people wearing traditional clothing like kebaya. They dance while walking slowly & it was interesting to watch. Behind them there was a group of people playing traditional songs while bringing instruments.

After the parade ended we felt very tired but it's okay because it was a very fun day because we got to see people in traditional costumes and listen to traditional music.

Our Independence day Activities At Satya Wacana Christian University

Last month (specifically at 17th August 2024), we celebrated Indonesia's Independence Day at Satya Wacana Christian University in Salatiga. There were so many activities and competitons that was held by the university. Such as Tug of War, Sack Race, Putting Pencil in the Bottle, Kerupuk Race and others. A few days before the competitions were held, our class discussed about who wanted to participate in the competitions. Our class teacher Ma'am Nobita chose Alvino and Bethany to participate in the Krupuk Race competition, Elin and Kinet in the Sack Race, and Mey - Mey, Emma, Aldi, Naufal, Misya, and Yan for Putting Pencil in the Bottle.

A few days after we disscused, the competitions had finally started, every participants competed to get first place and to win the prizes. And amazingly Alvino won the Krupuk Race, we bet he is hungry!

After our friends finished competing, we played together and watched other students compete. Finally, after watching other students competing, we went home.

Beginning 😸

In the beginning, we were immediately greeted by colorful decore with variations of gold, red, black, white and even pops of other colors. Nothing looked dull and it was like we walked into a whole new dimension. The parade entertainment were surrounded by street food stands. All the food smelt so good, we wanted to buy everything! We saw a big and creepy reog statue. There were so many villagers watching the parade. They were really loud but they all sounded very excited.

In the end we feel kinda exhausted, but we also feel happy! We had a fun time at the parade watching reog. We also bought some food from some of the stalls.

Our Experience Galungan at Bali Parade

Last week we all join the Galungan Bali parade. In the beginning we prepared ourself and the Galungan at 4AM. We all put the friuts and some money in the endongan.

In the beginning we girls prepared ourself and the Galungans at 4AM. We all put the friuts and some money in the endongan. Also we wore our Kebaya's and we also organize our hair and double check our Galungan's to make sure it good.When we walked around the village, we felt heavy but it was very fun for us. There are many age groups participating from young teenagers to adults to the elderly.We also arrange the fruit neatly on the endong and add decorative decorations to beautify the endong that we bring. We make it the day before the coil.

When there was an invitation I saw the penjor. I'm confused why penjor is always used at weddings. It turns out to be for decoration.
Penjor is very interesting, cool and fun. Plus, penjor smells like flowers

After that, we feel scared because the reog statue it's look creepy. The reog statue is very close with us, so that's makes we scary.

That's looks almost fall so we scared with that statue.
