Then she identified herself as a British agent and demanded that they negotiate the release of Cammaerts. On June 15,1952, Skarbeck had a trip with Andrzej Koweski, a man she met in Budapest. This was the first time they contacted each other after many years. As she was loading her trunk, Muldowney confronted her and ask how long she would be. Skarbeck said roughly two years and he stabbed her in the chest and killed her.
