I think this pandemic did not just affect the students but it has affected teachers to a certain degree, some less and some more.
It is important to provide some time to be able to speak with someone who is familiar and heal the difficulties one faced.

Since Christina and I only met once a week, it was always an eventful meeting, chockfull of rich discussion points. One moment we could be discussing the SOW and ways to do it justice, the next we could be discussing student welfare. Similar to the massive structure of Colosseum, there were many avenues ("corridors") to explore at every one time- it's difficult to be bored! Even though there was always something going on at school that demanded our attention, we always set time aside to touch base and check in. Much like the Colosseum, exposed to the elements and daily wear and tear, our mentoring meetings were a cornerstone that stood the bustle of everyday demands and business. Whenever I had any queries, he would be very patient explaining to me. He would also check on my well-being to ensure I was adjusting well to school. All these encouragements and advise given by him had certainly made my first year here a smooth one. I have chosen the Burj Kalifa because it is emblematic of strength, advancement and vibrancy. This is similar to what the mentoring program has given me. I am ready to face the challenges ahead.

It is like the mentoring journey with Mdm Lam. Mdm Lam has been mentoring me for some years and it has been really enriching. Each time during her mentoring, I gain new insights and perspective to teaching and always enjoyed trying out different methods and ways of giving feedback. Another reason why I chose this picture is because teaching is not a easy journey and has tough and dark days. But amidst the dark days, having mentoring with our mentors give us directions and light, giving us motivation in teaching. Firstly, it is because no one else chose it.
Secondly, I feel that the exterior Forbidden City looks imposing and inaccessible. However, it is only after you enter the palace that you can explore and see the different aspects of this architectural wonder.
This is like how some aspects of teaching may be daunting and difficult at times, but with a good mentor (guide), you can start to see the beauty in teaching.
