The Nuremberg Laws were racial laws that began the anti-Jewish policy in Germany. The Nuremberg Laws prohibited Jews from German citizenship. The Nuremberg Laws affected Jewish people in negative ways. It took away Jewish and German marriage and the ability to work in some places.

Propaganda is false information given to shape someone's opinion and make them believe something false. Propaganda was used during the Holocaust by Hitler and other Nazis. (The Children Who Escaped the Nazis)

It can be assumed that most Germans that weren't Jewish believed every word that came out of Hitler's mouth. The Germans were probably so upset at the loss of World War One that they could believe anything that'll make them feel better about their loss.

The German statement "hinter den feindmächten der Jude", written on the poster on the left translates to "behind the enemy powers of the jew". This shows that they are considered to be the enemies of the Nazis. It can be seen that Jewish people were not considered to be friends with the Germans.

Hitler would use propaganda by saying that Jews were the reason they lost World War One and that they were “subhuman” and “pests”, and that they are threats to the Germans. (The Children Who Escaped the Nazis)

Based on research, Germans weren't on the best terms with Jews. It can be inferred that Jewish people probably didn't like Hitler for accusing them of causing Germany's problems.

This poster is another use of propaganda. The German sentence "der ist Schuld am Kriege" translates to "Who is to blame for the war". This shows that Germans believe that Jews stopped them from winning the war. It can be inferred that Jewish citizens were not too happy about seeing these posters all over the place.

The Nazi Ideology was the belief that Nordic Aryan Germans were the “master race” and that Jewish were the “anti-race”. They believed that Germans were supposed to rule the world and that Jews were evil people who were in their way. (https://echoesandreflections.org/audio_glossary/)

Jews probably felt left out and unwanted because of Nazi Ideology. Jewish people most likely hated the Nazis for what they were saying about Jews.

Hersh Altman is explaining the anti-Semitic behavior from Nazis happening in Poland. Jewish people had lots of privileges taken from them. I can make a connection between Nazi Ideology and the period when black people had privileges taken from them. For example, both black people and Jews had limited job opportunities.

Jewish people had to be able to identify as Jewish. They would have a J stamped on their ID cards and they would sometimes have to wear a pin with the star of David representing that they are Jewish. Some Jewish people would have to leave their homes without their ID and pin so they wouldn't be recognized as a Jew while out around Germans. (https://www.ushmm.org/remember/holocaust-reflections-testimonies/echoes-of-memory/lasting-memory)

It was probably scary going outside of your home and putting yourself in danger because you don't have proper identification.

Kristallnacht was the night of November 9, 1838, that consisted of destruction of Jewish owned buildings. Stores were robbed and destroyed, Synagogues were burnt down, and Jewish men were arrested and sent to concentration camps. This outburst is said to have happened in response to the death of Ernst vom Rath. (https://echoesandreflections.org/timeline-of-the-holocaust/)

After this event took place in parts of Europe, the streets of cities and towns were covered in glass. It probably took more than one day to clean up the mess made by this crazy night.

The map of Germany and East Prussia shows the different places where Jewish synagogues were destroyed. You can see that all of the synagogues that were destroyed on the "Night of Broken Glass" were close together. You can also see that each synagogue that was destroyed was only about 50 miles away from another synagogue.
