These penguins need saving because of global warming in S. Africa to overheat.
Question: How can I design and build a shelter that reduces heat transfer and keep my ice cube penguin from melting?

My top three insulators were the white foam, aluminum foil, and mylar.

Step 3: Brainstorm possible solutions.

Trays demo:
We want insulators in our home, not conductors.
Spoons demo:
We do not want to use metal for the floor in the home.
Black vs Mylar:
I would want to use mylar in my home, not the black.
Attic vs Floor
We don't want our penguin to be close to the heat by being higher.

The design that we went with was a home made of aluminum foil with white foam as insulation on the walls and ceiling and mylar as a roof and protector.

The successes in my group's design is that it didn't go too much over 30% lost, and the percent of the ice cube lost was 38%. But one failure was that it was a bit too small for the ice cube.

Step 7: Modify design to improve it.

The changes we made were adding mylar as the roof and more foam as insulation because we thought that the house was getting direct heat, so we wanted more layers.

Step 8: Present and redesign if needed.

Some of our successes were that the first time, the percent change was 38%, and the second time, the percent change was 30%. But some failures were that the house was very small and didn't have enough room. And something I'd change in this design would obviously to make it bigger.
