Most authors have a bad childhood and get into writing that way, but he was just inspired by his mom. I also thought it was cool that there is a color for every major type of learning disability so it is distinguished. And I learned about the way that the dust bowl happened and why it was such a big event.

Also the Great Depression didn’t have any real happy endings.
