Councilman Meldelson DCPS has been under mayoral control since the Fenty years, there has been no positive movement in the system as a whole. There has been intimidation and manipulation of teachers, staff and principals. DCPS has the highest teacher turnover rate in the country and nothing is being done about it. We have had non-instructional Chancellors instead of proven instructional Superintendents. My question to you Mr. Meldenson is why have you and the council not thoroughly reviewed the mayor's management of the school system and held oversight meetings to revert oversight of the schools back to the Board of Education.
